Re: Got a Letter from Kroger Corporate! Good to know.
I often find myself confused about the number of times a coupon can be used, and the difference between store and manufacturer's coupons, so I tend to assume one coupon of each type per transaction, regardless of where the coupon came from. Meaning, if I buy peas at 10/$10 and I have a -$1 coupon for peas, I get ten cans for nine dollars (is this what Kroger's is setting the standard at now?). This has worked pretty well for me so far- but I guess you can use multiple types of some coupons, and double coupons (for example, one store, one manufacturer's) in some cases? Wow. I admire your ability to finesse the savings- use the force, man.
I can only hope that someday I command the same degree of grocery mojo.
@mom2jacob: They mean manufacturer's coupons printed off the internet? Well, that's really inconvenient, but you can probably circumvent it, at least to some degree, by using those websites that let you put coupons directly on your Kroger card. I'm not sure if it would break site rules to post the URLs here (Kroger's coupon section of their website links to them, actually), or if you guys already know about them, but I've used them once or twice, to great effect, and because they hang out on your Kroger card and apply themselves automatically, the cashier didn't seem to notice. I didn't even think they went through until I saw them on my receipt. I don't think they'd realize unless they cared to examine the total.
Also, on most of those such websites, the limit of coupons you can upload to the card is really high. Lowest I've seen so far was twenty. |
