Kinda mad at kroger cs, no mailed coupons

I used to get those home mailed coupons every once in a while then I stopped getting them. I have got it once in the past year. And this year I've spent more at kroger than ever before. So I called cs and all she would say is "If you use your card and spend a pre-set amount then it will trigger the system and you will get coupons." I told her "yes, but I DIDN't get the last mailer." She just repeated the mantra. So I said I would just shop at Publix then.

So why am I not getting the coupons anymore? Is there any rhyme or reason about who gets them? I spend at least $50 a week and usually closer to $100 a week at Kroger. It's my main store. i just want those good coupons everyone else gets.

I don't know if this will help, but have you registered an email with them and opted for special notices and coupons?

Yes, the cs lady even confirmed that they had my correct address on file. I was so happy when I got a page of coupons back in the winter, but I haven't gotten any since. She wouldn't tell me what the spending amount had to be to trigger the coupons, but I know I'm spending more now than I ever had there. Maybe I should sign up for another card in DH's name.

That might work. I didn't ever receive coupons from my old card, but when I lost it and got a new one, that's when I started getting them. I'm not sure how often I get them, but not very often, so apparently I am just getting them on the newest card, even though I found my old one and they told me I could use both. Whew, that was a long sentence.

You told the cs rep that you would just shop at Publix....actually do that and you will get mailers again. In my experience the more you shop there the less you get. For example I used to go every week and spend $25 so I would get mailer for 5/35. I then started spending 35 and would get mailer for 6/60. They are only sending them to convince you to spend your money. Once they think you're convinced, then they don't need to send you anything. If you lower your usual amount spent with them you'll probably get a mailer to entice(sp) you to come back!! Having a second card seems like a good way to have them think you quit going and may result in the same outcome. Think I might try that also...

Yep I agree with the previous post. I decreased what I spend at Kroger since I discovered Publix's b1g1f program and coupons. They started sending me a bunch of coupons to get me to come back and spend my money there.

I think that this is how it works also. Before couponing, we did almost all of our shopping at Kroger. We'd go 2-3 times a week and spend way too much money. I never received ANY coupons in the mail. Then, I started couponing and stopped shopping at kroger. I maybe do 2-3 transactions a month now. I've now received 3 mailers. One in Nov-Dec, One in Jan-Feb & one in May.

So that would explain all the $5/$35 and $2/$10 meat Qs I've been getting.

Huge duh! Of course, I should have figured that out. They don't want to REWARD me for shopping there, they want to LURE me to shop there if I don't already! That makes so much sense now. I am formally retiring my Kroger card. Publix is having a good sale right now so that and Ingles is where I will be going for a while. Thanks guys!

I was going to add MTCW....I shop at Kroger all the time too and have never rec'd a homemailer cpn in my name. Now, DH rarely shops there and would get those stinkin' homemailers ALL the time!! Made me so mad! I miss Publix!!!
