Default Dumb move at the checkout

I wasn't even thinking, I thought I was being helpful.
The lady in front of me forgot her Kroger card, oh here use mine I said....
And then she was handed her change and my catalinas....

Ohhhhhh nnoooooo..........

Guess that will teach me :)
Next time perhaps I will say, I will let you use mine but you'll have to give me my coupons that print out:)

I'm confused. Why would she get your catalinas? Aren't they triggered by what you buy?

The catalinas are usually triggered with something you buy so it normally would have been something she bought that day that triggered it.In other words your card but her catalina . Hope that makes sense. Then when you got rang up if you bought the same as her the catalina would have still come out for you. For example when I bought GM before when there was a sale I triggered a catalina, when my husband went later and bought the same he got the same catalina. HTH.
By the way that was very nice of you. They usually have a spare one at the register if someone forgets .

I'll sometimes get catalinas as soon as I swipe my card and again after I've paid.

I will say, though that I think it's a good idea to not lend your card out if you are using those e-coupons. They might be buying something on the list and get your one-time discount. Now that would be sad.

Funny my son has one of the little key cards off of my kroger card. We share my gas perks. He said he bought 1 thing (wouldn't tell me what it was) and all these coupons printed out. He gave them to me today when he came to visit. I had wondered why last week when I shopped I didn't get any.

I think catalinas pop out for all sorts of reasons. One is you haven't bought a product in awhile- and they want you to so you get a catalina.

I get catalinas for Pedigree all the time. Even if I'm only buying a dr pepper. They know I've bought tons of Purina One's before. Same with cat treats.

One time the Panni's from Stouffer's would print 1/2 after ringing up one. If I would ring up two I would get 1/3. You bet I stood at UScan until the 1/2 came up then rang my second one.

If you haven't used your Kroger card in awhile they will come out like you won a jackpot.

Then there are the ones that are competitor items that are trigged by what you by.

I would love to figure out how to get the 4/1 cottonelle and 4/1 Viva.

When my kids are with me, sometimes I don't feel like digging out my card. I just type my phone number (the one that is linked to the card) into the credit card keypad. Voila, my loyalty number pops up on the screen and I get my deals!

HTH

I've had my card for so long, I can't even remember which phone number is linked to mine! Good thing I have the card on my keyring!
