Be careful to check your balances, especially if your receipt doesn't print{Of Course, this is true for any gift card you use for shopping at any store}.
I was getting gas today at a Kroger out of town and the computer froze up when I went to go pay. Needless to say, we had a line waiting for help for a little while. Someone had to come up from the store to the gas station to try to fix it. I had paid with my gift card and was told they had run it through inside the store, so I would need to go in the store to get my receipt. DH and I were ready to get home, so we just started back and I called to get my balance with my cell phone, just to make sure I was only charged the correct amount.

Boy, was I glad I did. When I got a hold of customer service on the card, they told me my card had been charged 56.01 twice. Apparently, when the computer froze it had just charged my gift card, and then they ran it through again in the store. Thankfully, they cheerfully gave me my money back on one of the charges and we didn't get too far down the road, before we had to turn back.

I have purchased one $330 gift card for $300. At the time of purchase, I was told that I can purchase up to three more times ($330 gift cards) up until the end of July. So depending on how you purchase the gift cards, it is more than one per household. If you purchase $1320 gift card the first time around (a $1200 purchase) then it is one time only.

Thats right we did this when it first started and got ALL 4 Gift Cards so thats been fun keeping up with the last couple of months but hey its $120 free monies

Has anyone had problems with "disappearing value" on one of these cards?

I only bought one card and haven't had the money to buy more. But, with any gift card I would recommend keeping my receipts and comparing them with all purchases. Kinda, like balancing a check book. I know it's not any fun, but it could save you a boatload of money.
