You scared me just a bit with the title....
Hopefully it's not in this region!
Anyone heard anything about this for the Mid-Atlantic region?
Please Help me saveon the things I need here!
if you can say a prayer for my family!
I must confess . . . I am a Duggar Lover

That would stink! I sure hope it's not true.
Mod for WalgreensLife is not about waiting for the storms to pass....it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
PLEASE, do NOT assume it won't ... They're "testing" this (so far) in the Houston/GulfCoast area of the TX/LA region. Don't think it won't ever come to your region also.
I would encourage you to write to your regional office AND corporate AND manufacturers and let them know it would definitely change your shopping habits, how it would affect your giving to food banks, how it would affect Senior Citizens, the packages for soldiers overseas, the low-income, the out of work, and any others you can think of.
of course, their offset is supposedly the "high value" eQs offered on their site that do not d/t ... I personally don't see how a 50¢ eQ that doesn't double is "better" than a 50¢ paper Q that does double, but I'm obviously not a kroger exec, so what do I know?
They "say" we are only 7% of their expenses ... I also heard on our local ABC news that Kroger is no longer giving the discount for using your own bags (to add insult to injury, since TX/LA NEVER got that discount) because "it didn't change shoppers habits" ... (all that ON TOP OF stopping the stacking of eQs and paper Qs on Monday, 3/20/11 in our region) -- in other words, WE DON'T MATTER and they don't care if they lose our sales or not.
I did NOT hear them say anything about reducing any of the executive's paychecks or bonuses. ... oh, that's right, they aren't having income problems. Even if they were, the order of cut-backs generally goes: customers, then low-level and/or retirement age employees, then store closures/mid-management, THEN corporate execs ... silly me! what WAS I thinking?
you can go to kroger's facebook page and voice your opinion and concern, in addition to sending out those cards and letters!
I would not suggest wasting your time on their Facebook page...they have deleted several commnets and questions...I think they want that page to be fun and up-beat.
I do agree that it is important to let their District/Corporate office know how much of our continued shopping at their store is due to coupons. I have sent several e-mails and plan to also follow up with a written letter.
I love Krogers...but only because of the coupons and the sales. Target is my second favorite...I guess I will just have to get better with Target.

You can comment on Kroger's facebook page, but you cannot post a starting thread. I did comment on their page because I think it is important they receive a lot of feedback on this issue in all formats- letters, phone calls, and even facebook.
I encourage every Kroger customer to do something. Remember: Kroger is a CUSTOMER DRIVEN COMPANY. Without shoppers, there would be no Kroger. People NEED to speak up and tell Kroger what they want and if Kroger wants to continue to be successful, they NEED to listen!
It's heart-warming the number of support we're receiving from other regions!
We may only be a "measly 7%" but they forget, we got "family"!!
Thanks for your support!
It may not hit Mid-Atlantic right away, but it doesn't make sense that this would stay a metro Houston issue. Besides, there has already been 'rumors' that this will hit other areas soon. Meaning, 'so and so heard it from their store manager in XXXXX, VA'. I think it's possible that they're claiming it's only Houston to keep a HUGE uproar (all at once) from taking place or they're testing the waters to see how business is impacted there.
I won't waste my time with facebook, but I will write them via snail mail.
If it does happen, I won't spend much time there anymore. Their ecoupons are unreliable at best.
I was told by our manager, that we won't be able to use a manufactures coupon on top of downloaded coupons, not sure if its in effect yet, but she said they will override them for a short time period ... boo
