What a bummer! Glad our Kroger here in VA doesn't follow that policy. If they did, I would certainly be taking my business elsewhere. One of the main reasons I shop at my Kroger is because they are so good about taking my coupons.
worked all week on coupon matchups shopped for 1 hour unloaded groceries for checkout laid down coupons was told only two internet coupons per order this store also quit taking any free coupons about 3 months ago. so if you ever come to huntington wv dont waste your time going to the route60 barboursville wv store talked to asst manger about this coupon policy and he told me to tell the internet .so here i am telling people who count my fellow coupon shoppers shay47

My Kroger in VA doesn't take any internet coupons.
They've also decided that I can't go and just get 'free' things-like Shamrock milk for instance, $10 for 10 makes it free after $0.50 doubled. I have to buy something.
My Kroger takes only 2 coupons per like item - period. I say it's false advertising to say "unlimited double coupons to .50" and then only take 2. Grrr.
"Tell the Internet" ??? Wow.
If contacting Corporate doesn't get you satisfaction, you may want to go to their operations page (link below) and call them, trying to reach someone in Consumer Affairs ... my understanding is that the listings on the link are the Division offices. I've been more impressed with Division than with corporate, personally.
The Kroger Co. - Operations: Grocery Marketing
The worse they can do is tell ya "go tell the internet"! ... Wouldn't the OP's manager be real surprised when his Division Manager calls and tells him, "The 'internet' has arrived!"
When you call them (or write to them) you might ask why the offer internet coupons if the stores don't accept them? ... They know it's gonna be one of "oh ...no ..." calls, then!
Actually, all of the Kroger's in the Roanoke/Salem area of VA just started a new IP coupon policy. Only 2 IP's per same item, unlimited per order. No IP's for free items (that's kinda been going on for a while though). I had a friend who called CS and they told her the store mgr is the final say on coupon policy....if they want to limit it, they can.
I haven't shopped at Kroger since because almost all of my q's are IP's for like items and if I need to buy 5 of an item to get a OYNO catalina coupon, I intend on using 5 q's. I think they'll discover this policy is going to drive away good business.

(just my opinion) but if this and the ability to legitimately print more than 2 IPs is presented by enough customers to the person whose commission paycheck is being affected by such decisions ... well, that person may watch this for a quarter and see if/how much sales drop, and know the reason why. May decide it's losing a few dollars from folks that commit fraud is less than the sales he's losing from customers using coupons legitimately.
Also, the DM may not be aware that the stores are doing this. If he is and approved it, fine, his paycheck can drop with sales. If he isn't and wants to do something about it, then notifying him in writing gives him notice! (and I would put your very reasons stated above, in the mail!)
Sorry ... I just have a tendency to let people's bosses know WHY their business is losing money and my business. SM's can be replaced, and if this is a "test" theory (2 IPs lessen fraud), then perhaps they should try it in 20% of the stores in the area, rather than 100% so they will have a better "test" group comparison and results!
... to each his own!
I've been shopping that store (Rt. 60) for just over a year now... never had any problems with my coupons! Just depends on the mgrs. on duty and your cashier, which I've gotten to know a lot of them by now.
There are a LOT of couponers in the area that commit fraud, so, you have to understand why their guard is up. I wouldn't want my store to lose money either!
Isn't it terrible that people around here commit coupon fraud. It makes it harder for the ones like us who use coupons the correct way.
I go to the Teays Valley store and they are GREAT! They call me the coupon aldy and are always happy to see my deals, plus I share coupons with them. It's nice to be known as "the coupon lady."
I also go to Teays Valley (but just moved from Cross Lanes Kroger) and have yet to have problems. Sure am glad we no longer live in H-town!
