Default Tonight's Kroger trip

This is what I got in two transactions.

36 Kraft Cheese @ 2.00 = 72.00 - (18 * $1/2 = 18.00) = 54.00
5 Purex Naturals @ 2.50 = 12..50 - (5 * 1.00/1 = 5.00) = 7.50
1 Old El Paso tortilla @ 1.00 = 1.00 - 1.00/1 = 0
1 Disney string cheese = .31
5 Blistex @ 1.00 = 5.00 - (.35(doubled) * 5 = 3.50) = 1.50
4 Heartland spaghetti @ .99 = 3.96 - (.55/1 * 4 = 2.20) = 1.76
1 Kroger mini marshmallows = .50

Total shelf price = 141.69
Total sale price = 95.27
-coupons (29.70) = 65.57
-24.00 ($6 promo * 4) = 41.57 + 2.07tax =

$43.64

It's not an extremely low oop but I am really happy with it. I will not have to buy cheese for a loooooong time.

You saved almost $100 - awesome job!

I need to do the cheese deal, too. I just pulled my last bag from the freezer tonight.

Yep! I know we have a thread about it somewhere in the stockpiling forum. Shredded cheese, crumbles, and slices freeze nicely. The blocks freeze good and taste fine when thawed, but they become crumbly.

I put 32 of the bags in the freezer. I hadn't read the thread on freezing it, but I decided to. I purchase a tyson meal kit one time that had frozen cheese it in. I think it was for quesidillas or something like that and it turned out fine. So, my thinking was if they can do it, so can I.

The cheese is on sale 2/$4, and it's part of the game day promo where you buy 9 items, get $6 off. There were $1/2 blinkies (expired yesterday) but there are still the .40/2 insert q's you can use.

With the .40/2 q's:

9 @ $2 ea
=$18
-$6 promo
=$12
-(4) .40/2 (doubled)
=$8.80 or .98 ea

Jay C Foods is a grocery store that’s part of the Kroger chain, and they’re running the same $6.00 off promotion. Their shredded cheese is on sale for $1.79 a bag. I used .75/2 coupons from last Sunday’s insert. There are Jay Cs all over Southern Indiana, I think there may be some in Kentucky also.
