FYI Fuel program changes *DETAILS NOW POSTED*

I just got next weeks ad and it included and insert that says............

    More Ways to save
Now get instant fuel savings at Kroger and Shell too!

Redeem up to 1000 points for $1 off a gallon on one fill up.

    Maximum fill of 35 gallons.

Darn!!! I used the old program all the time and always had 4 fills @ .50 a gallon after 750 points. Oh well, guess I'll have to pass on the fuel rewards now: (

    Here are the Details...........................

What has changed with your fuel program?
The fuel program now allows you to receive savings on fuel purchases at both Kroger and at
participating Shell locations. You may redeem 100 points at Shell for a 10˘ per gallon savings.
And you may redeem up to 1,000 points in a single fill-up at Kroger for up to $1 off per gallon.
For each increment of 100 points redeemed at Kroger, 10˘ off per gallon will be awarded. For
    example:

    • 100 Points = 10˘ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Shell.
    • 100 Points = 10˘ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger.
    • 200 Points = 20˘ off per gallonof fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger.
    • 1,000 Points = $1 off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger.

    How do I earn Points?
There are three ways to earn Points in Kroger stores:

    • Spending on Groceries (normal exclusions apply): $100 in Groceries = 100 Points
    • Non-Governmen funded Prescriptions: 1 Prescription = 50 Points
    • Double Gift Card Points (normal exclusions apply): $50 in Gift Cards = 100 Points

Do Gift Card purchases count toward Points?
Yes, with the exception of Kroger Gift Cards, Green Dot cards, MoneyPaks and 1-2-3 REWARDS®
Visa Prepaid Debit Card and ReCharge Card™. All remaining Gift Card purchases count toward
your points. In fact, you will receive DOUBLE points on all qualifying gift card purchases! For
example, when you purchase $50 in gift cards, you will receive 100 points toward your fuel
    reward. Normal exclusions apply.
How can I find out how many Points I have?
Current Points can be located on the bottom of your Kroger receipt.
Is there a limit of how many Points a Customer can earn?
No, there is not a limit on the number of Points you can earn.
Is there a limit of how many Points a Customer can redeem at once?
YES, there IS a limit of 1,000 Points that can be used in a single fuel fill-up. Customers not using a 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard® can get up to $1 off per gallon of fuel (1,000 Points). Customers with a 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard® can get up to $1.05 off per gallon of fuel (1,000 Points, and 5˘ per gallon when you use your 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard®).
What happens if I have more than 1,000 Points earned?
The Points, in excess of the 1,000 that can be used at once, will remain on your card to be used at a later time.
How does the process at the Shell pump work?
    1. If paying inside, see cashier BEFORE inserting your Kroger Plus Card.
    2. BEFORE you insert your payment card, follow
the screen prompts to initiate the Kroger
    savings process.
    3. Insert your Kroger Plus Card, or manually enter your
alternate ID or your loyalty card number found on the
back of your loyalty card or key fob.
    4. Select your form of payment and fuel grade.
    5. Save 10˘ per gallon up to a maximum of 35 gallons of fuel,
    per vehicle, per purchase.
How can I find out how many points I have?
Your current points balance is located at the bottom of your Kroger receipt. You can also
check your points balance by registering your Kroger Loyalty card number at kroger.com.
Is there a limit of how many points I can earn?
No, there is not a limit on the number of points you can earn.
How many points can I redeem at once?
There is a limit of 100 points that can be redeemed in a single fuel fill-up at Shell. However, up
to 1,000 points can be redeemed for up to $1 off per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers. Fuel savings
    are limited to 35 gallons.
What if I have points left over?
If you have more than 100 points available at the time you redeem fuel points, any excess points
will remain on your card through the end of the following calendar month in increments of 100.
For example, if you earn 232 points in July, but you do not use any points towards a fuel discount,
only 200 points will remain valid on your card for the month of August.
I scan my loyalty card at Kroger, why can’t I scan it at Shell?
Shell station fuel dispensers don’t have scanning technology. To get the savings, either insert
your large Kroger Plus Card or enter your loyalty card number found on the back of your loyalty
card or key fob. You can also enter your alternate ID. Remember, your alternate ID and/or
phone number must be registered with Kroger in order for them to work properly.
Go to kroger.com to update your Plus Card information.

Can I choose not to use my savings at the fuel pump?
Yes, Do not insert your Kroger Plus Card when purchasing fuel at Kroger or Shell and your points
will remain on your card for future use.

Can I choose how many points to redeem in a single fill up?
Not at this time. If you choose to redeem your points, the maximum savings available at that
    time will be awarded.

    Where is this program running?

have a Kroger Plus Card, you have everything you need to start shopping and earning points.
If you want to sign up for a Kroger Plus Card, just visit the Customer Service Desk at your local
    Kroger.

Does the 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard® still give an additional 5˘ per gallon discount?
You can pay with your 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard®. However, the extra 5˘ per gallon is only
available at Kroger Fuel Centers. To activate the 10˘ savings at Shell, card holders can enter
the loyalty card number on the back of their 1-2-3 REWARDS® MasterCard®.

What are the lower levels of savings for this now? If it is pretty much .10 per every $100 spent, wouldn't that be better since $750 spent would be .75 off per gallon? SERIOUSLY DOUBTING it though-LOL!

I'm I missing this or is the Shell GC not on the excluded list? If it's not that would mean double points for shell cards?

IMO, after quickly reading OP's promo details, isn't this new program WORSE than the old one? With the old one you got 4 fill-ups with the discount earned. With the new promo, points earned are only for ONE fill-up-even though your discount is more than the maximum of .50 per gallon from the old promo.

I could be wrong, but I think this is only for Michigan stores and not Columbus OH stores.

I called the Kroger I use in Columbus, Ohio and they said their program was NOT changing. And my receipts still say the same thing as they always have about the program so hopefully Ohio is not changing theirs.

I called Kroger plus CS yesterday and they said that for this month we will get the best of both. She said I have over 1000 points and that I will get $1 off per Gal for my first fill then $.50 for each of 4 fills after that but that next month is will go to the new program. She said it will be $.10 for 100, $.20 for 200, $.30 for 300 and so on. If you go here you can see what the different areas programs are.
