QUESTION Kroger Great Lakes - Any hidden items in the quaker/milk deal?

Just wondering if anyone has found any other items that work for the Buy 4 get 3 gal. of milk deal.

The Quaker Omega-3 Chewy Oat Granola Bars qualify and there's a $1/1 coup from one of the Sunday insert ex. 4-4-09. You end of with the 3 free milk and paying $1.50 a box when you buy 4.

I had a nice customer service person try ringing this for me because the omega-3 weren't pictured or displayed with the other Quaker items that qualified.

I also had a "milk" manager tell me that if stored properly, milk is good up to a week after the expiration date. Does this match anyone else's experience?

buggs, I've had milk that's been good up to a week. I've also had milk that had been not so good up to the exp. date. I think it all depends on how it was handled in the store and in your home.

That is good to know about the Omega-3!!

in the boxes of chewy granola bars raisin and oatmeal low fat with the advertisement for the true delights on it I found 2 coupons printed on the inside of the box. One for the fiber omega bars the other for the true delight. Both were for $1/1.

I did not know this deal was working for the week ending 3/29. I had read about it but thought I read it was not for the GLR.

The new ad (week ending 4/5) has (5) 1/2 gals milk/juice FREE WYB (4) of the Quaker items. (that's only a total of 2 1/2 gallons!) Has anyone recd the (3) gallons this week in the GLR?

    :)

My DH is a dairy manager too. Milk is generally good for a week after the sell by date. Don't forget, if you have the space, you can freeze your milk. Pour off a little bit for expansion before you freeze it. It will separate a little when you freeze it. Thaw in the fridge and then shake it like crazy before you serve it and its just fine. We do this all the time. DH usually buys the short dated milk from his store and we pop it in the freezer.

It seems as though they are running two different promos on different weeks within the same region, right? Michigan is part of GLR, correct? It is late and I should go to bed!

I was gonna post this, too, except I've never had to pour off any milk or shake it when I freeze Kroger brand milk. The ones that seperate really badly and explode when frozen from expansion (imhe) have been the ones that don't come in see-through containers. I just throw my see-through ones in the big freezer and am good to go, but it never hurts to be more careful and pour some off.
