FAQ for Kroger Great Lakes

If you are new to the forum, please feel free to post an announcement to everyone on this thread! We love getting announcements from new forum visitors!

Q. I am from (insert area here), am I supposed to be a part of the Great Lakes region?
A.
If you live in or near the following area, good chances are you are a part of the Great Lakes region. I've broken this up by state.

Michigan
Flint Area
Detroit Area
Ann Arbor Area
Lansing Area

Ohio
Columbus Area
Cleveland Area
Toledo Area
Sandusky Area
Zanesville Area
Eastern Ohio Valley/ N. W VA (Pan Handle)

Ads run Monday-Sunday

Q. Well, I thought I was a part of the Great Lakes region, but now I'm not so sure. What region do I belong to?
A.
Please refer to this sticky to see the list that Mexi put together!

Q. When is the new ad posted here on the forum?
A.
Usually the moderator, Krystalily, tries to post the ad Saturday night at midnight and then follows up the next day with the coupon matchups along with possible pictures of the Ad. This is so you don't have to go to kroger.com to view it.

Q. Does my Kroger double coupons?
A. Please call your local Kroger and ask! Some double coupons up to $1 and some double less. It depends on your area and your store. Please refer to this thread for stores that double coupons.

Q. Does Kroger take internet printables?
A. It varies from store to store. Once again, you'd have to call and ask. The official policy is paraphrased here:

(courtesy of past KGL mod mamaknowsbest and Irismania)
Kroger instituted a change in the company's policy to now accept print-at-home (PAH)s internet coupons as of November 29th, 2007 and as store divisions across the United States have already complied with this
change…hopefully, management's word in your store has gotten to each store's head-cashier.

We do accept internet coupons, providing the following is true:

1) The coupon is not for a Free product or for more than 75% off the original cost - we do not accept those
from the internet.
2) The coupon scans properly at the register. If the registers do not register is, it is most likely not a valid
coupon.
3) If the coupon is altered in any way.

Other than that, yes, we now accept Internet coupons. You may simply provide your cashier with the coupon at the time of check out and as long as it scans, it is fine.

Q. How do I know a coupon is real?
A. Please refer to this sticky on checking to see if coupons are real/fake.

Q. How do I get a Kroger store loyalty card?
A.
Just go to the customer service center and tell them you are interested in applying for a Kroger card. You must have one to get all the in-store savings and to sign up for the eCoupons. You can also apply for a new card online.

Q. My card has uploaded coupons from eSAVER/Cellfire/Shortcuts and I have a question about it.
A. Please refer to this thread.

Q. I bought some reusable bags and I brought them in. Will I get a bag credit?
A.
This might be on an individual store basis, but every Kroger I have gone to so far gives a 5 cent per bag credit. Make sure you ask the cashier before a transaction so they can get it set up as one of the first things they punch in so they don't forget as it is a relatively new process.

The FAQ was last updated 1/31/09. It is updated frequently, so keep checking back here if you have a question that needs to be answered!

On this P&G buy $25.00 get $5.00 off at register, Will $25.00 be counted after tax or will it be the total before tax is added? I have my list figure out to $25.00 with tax and I don't want any surprises!

Usually with deals like these, the full amount has to be before tax. I will be heading to Kroger here shortly and will verify this unless someone has done this deal already and can add on more information.

Not a Kroger great lakes shopper but know that the $25 total needed is:

Sale prices not regular prices
Before Tax
Before coupons.

So the coupons I loaded onto my card will not alter the fact that the total is $25.00 before the tax and coupons are added in. right?

Searcher, I saw in another thread you had already done the deal with success! I got back from Kroger just a bit ago and I just wanted to add in here for others wanting to know the answer that the online coupons should not affect the money total of the P&G items in a transaction. If you got $25 before coupons (ALL coupons including the online ones) AND tax, you should get the $5 off your total order. If anyone finds that they didn't get the $5 off the order, make sure you got $25 worth of the participating items (they have a special tag for them). Then if you def. did get $25 worth of the participating items and for sure didn't get $5 off, head to customer service and see if they can't help out. I've found customer service to be super helpful in these cases.

HTH!

Yes I watched carefully to make sure I got the $5.00 off. On my receipt it shows the item, price of item and below that it shows the automatic coupon discount then below that the esaver coupon discount. So I watched the register as he scanned and I saw $50.xx pop up and I started to panic just for a second! Then he hit a few more buttons and ask for $31.32 which was about $1.32 over what I had figured. But I know where I went wrong. I bought Dawn (2/$5) and I did not load the Dawn coupon cause I had two I was gonna take and hand to him that were for more, then when I checked my stack it was no where to be found! I had somehow left it at home on the desk where I was sorting. I think one of the fur kids might have been lying on it, they love to help!

Oh! Poo! I went back to Kroger and I thought I had the $25.00 figured out and I guess my figures included tax. When I had CS refigure it I was 0.43 short! I asked her if she could go on the figure with the tax added in and she wouldnt do it. I felt like taking it all back! I can still send in my receipts for $50.00. I was figuring on that $5 off. I went to WalMart and I had it all figured out and the young man at the register would not take my ip's!! He said they stopped taking them because people were doubling them. So that was about an extra $10 on that trip. So I got hosed for around $15 today that I really could not afford!! But I did get the Lumiair free!!

The Ads are usually a sticky at the top of the forum and it will have a picture next to it that says "AD". I post these around midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning with coupon matchups. :) Once midnight hits the day before the new ad comes out, Kroger.com lets you see next week's ads online. So since the new Ad starts on Monday, they let it be viewable on Saturday night/sunday morning at midnight. Hope this helps a little!
