QUESTION Kroger Great Lakes: What good deals did YOU get?

Hey guys,

I'm just curious as to what good deals you got this week? Anyone find anything that would be a good buy?

Hope to hear from some of you!

Default Re: What good deals did YOU get?

I haven't been to the store yet, but will stop there today or tomorrow.

On my list:
Horizon milk $3.79
Cottonelle $9.99 - $2 Q from a mailer = $7.99 (not a great price, but I need some)

I bought Chex at Meijer this week, but the price at Kroger isn't bad (and it's good for all more types of GM cereals)
Buy 4 for $8 - use 2 $1/2 Q = 4 boxes for $6 (or $1.50 each)

There's a 10/$10 sale this week with some nice stuff:
Kroger tiny twists pretzels (perfect for Chex Mix)
Kroger tortilla chips
Banquet brown & serve sausages (DH loves these)
Daisy sour cream (-$.50/1 Q from SS 11/16 doubled = FREE)

Fruit Naturals are $1 this week. There are 2/$1 Qs out there. I picked up a few on Tuesday.

Default Re: What good deals did YOU get?

Yesterday I got some of the following:

Arm & Hammer detergent 51 loads 2.99 after Q's (I know WAGS was doing a A&H deal, but I don't go to WAGS)
Free Daisy Sour Cream (Free after Q)
Free cottonelle single roll 4 pack (Cellfire and shortcuts.com Q's + manu Q in paper... not really sure if this is stacking or not?)
Parkay spreadable butter - 2.00 (for 2) - .75 Q: $1.25 for two tubs
Did the Fleischmann's yeast deal (only got 3 packs though)

Edited to add: w/ the 50 cent cottonelle Q in the ad today, that makes the 4 pack cottonelle FREE

Ok.. maybe I am way off here but I can't believe your Kroger let you stack coupons like that. If the coupons in the aisle were blinkies, generally you cannot use them with a coupon from the paper. That's a big no-no and I don't think we're allowed to talk about it here either. You cannot use two manufacturer coupons on the same item. I also can't figure out how you got the cereal for so cheap... Unless the price was different at different stores, the price on the cereal was $2/box *after* the $4 auto discount, which would make it $8 - $3 = $5/4 or $15/12. Either my math is off or I am missing something... :)

Youi are right on all accounts.

I think PP is really new to all of this and just doesnt understand how things work. She only has 3 posts here so that leads me to believe she may be new to coupons too.
So, maybe we can all help her.

To PP
It sounds like you used more cereal coupons than 1 per every 3 boxes unless your stores prices are different than ours ( which they very well could be so please dont take offense just letting you know how the post sounds)

If a coupon is $3 off of 3 boxes you can only use one coupon per every 3 boxes. Sorry if you already know that but it just doesnt sound like it from the prices you gave. Just trying to help.

Also I have the same 1.50 blinkie coupon for the cookies you are talking about and its $1.50 off of two and is a manufacturer coupon you may only use that coupon on two rolls of cookies you cant use it AND a $1 on two rolls from an insert. Not both that is illegal.
If one were a store coupon and one were manufacturer you could do that but just because you find a coupon in the store doesnt make it a store coupon. Look at the top it will always say manufacturer or store name.

Also on the soup just because she took 2 coupons doesnt make it right. If she took 2 coupons each good for $3 off 6 cans and you only bought 6 cans that is fraud.

Sounds like you may have done the same on the Kashi bars you said you got 2 free with 3 coupons. You cant do that either. you will notice all coupons say 1 per purchase. That means when you buy one item you may have one manufacturer coupon for that item only. Any other use constitutes fraud.

I am shocked that you got such a ill trained cashier!!! Wow! Please be advised that she could lose her job for that type of behavior. And that using coupons improperly gives us all a bad name.

I hope we dont discourage you from posting but we all want to be on the up and up here and only discuss legal deals. Please dont take offense were just trying to help we were all new once and we all make mistakes.
Welcome to HCW! Keep reading the forums and you will be a pro in no time.

Sorry about that. I don't want to get myself or anyone else into trouble. I'm relatively new to couponing and have not yet learned what can and cannot be done. The cashier kept pulling the coupons off of the boxes and scanning them. Typically the cash register will beep or something if it finds a coupon you can't use for one reason or another, am I right?
I apologize if I've said something that I shouldn't. I'm ill informed, as I do most of my couponing online (retailmenot is awesome).

I would love some education!

Don't worry! We all learn at one point or another and this is an awesome place to learn about it! Sounds like you are on the right path though. Just keep scouting out the deals and you'll be a coupon-master in no time!

I very new at this - I just returned from a trip to Kroger and I was charged $3.50 (which was 10% of my total) more than I thought I should have been using my calculations with coupons??

I'm wondering if their is specific rules that I'm missing. My Kroger will double $1.00 coupons and accepts internet printable coupons. I only used 3 like coupons on 3 products (ie Swanson broth at $2.26 - $1.00IP - $1.00extra coupon = $0.26). I thought at first it was taxes but that didn't add up unless paper products are taxed at the original cost pre-coupon?? Any advice on what I'm doing wrong??
