QUESTION I'll be going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving - should I bring coupons?

    I'm not a usual Kroger's shopper.

I'll be going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving.

Are there any everyday "regular" deals I can make good on, while over there?

I would rather not bring all my coupons, just the appropriate ones.

Any suggesstions? Reps will be due to all...

    Thanks in advance.

Where ? Depends on the area...but ours, 48317, always doubles up to $.50/1..and usually not limited to an quantity unless ad and/or signs say so. Other area ones double a limited quantity to $.99 but I don't have that info.

I would try, just cause I heard the Kroger in Rossford, OH doubles up to $1 and my inlaws live around there.

There could be some of the more traditional things going on sale, like turkey, whip cream, pie mixes, stove top, who knows what else. I remember those being on sale last year but my brain can't remember if that was right during that week or around xmas time.

Good luck and have fun at the inlaws!

i am not from your area but i do have an idea if you know your in-laws adress or zip code why don't you check the kroger online ad for that week plan your list before you go .that way you know what you want and only take the coupons you need according to the sale .i always keep coupons for toilet paper ,paper towels(because i don't need a sale for them at kroger usually free after man coupon and short cuts or pg easysaver) and a few iteams i need often in my purse just in case i find them on clearence and i don't have my binder with me hope this helps .

Thanks all, so far. I'll be in Illinois.

If you know of any specific items that reg. price can be doubled to and free that would be great to know.

That is why I'm so excited. We don't have doubles where I live.

If you are going to the Great Lakes region, maybe you could post their zip in a thread and ask for a price check. The regular prices at Kroger stores vary a lot. I'm in S. OH and the 3 stores near me all have different prices. If it were me, honestly, I'd bring all my coupons. Kroger in my area is famous for manger special and mark downs. I often find entire displays of clearance stuff. You just never know what you'll find.

Some of my regular free's are
Brut Deodorant - They run it for $1 quite often

Johnsons Buddies soap - Use the $3/3 insert and a cat will print for $3/3 (some areas are getting $2.50/3)

4 packs of yogurt (Activia/Dannon/Fiber1 etc) are often marked down to $1.49 and get I them for $.49. They freeze well and my kids eat them like a frozen treat.

Scotch Brite Sponges and (I forget the other brand) are going free right now

There are often markdowns in the scented aisle that come up free/overage

If the totino's pizza roll small boxes are $10/10 when you go, you will get $.80 off 2 with your $.40 dbls.

Sauve hair care is often free.

Colgate comes up free quite a bit.

Cottonelle 4 packs used to, but not in my area for a while

The corn bread mix that Crow Foods has out is free after the coupon they send you in the mail. Go on their website and request coupons, you will have them in a few days. They are quick and will send them every 4 months if you ask. Their Fast Shake pancake mix (in the shaker bottle) is near free also, as is the Bakin Magic and Fryin Magic. Kroger is running crow commercials on the instore radio right now and all ther products are on sale.

Also, before you go make sure you sign up your card (or your inlaws if they have one) at shortcuts.com and download the coupons you want. Same for the P&G on the kroger site. You can combine paper coupons with those deals.

Check the bread markdowns too. Hotdog and Hamburger rolls get down to $.25 or $.49 and freeze fine.
They once had a bunch of cans of pepsi products marked $.10 each b/c the packages broke. The cashier told me I could still use my $1/1 24 pack b/c I bought more than that. Awesome deals like that happen. Their regular pricing kinda stinks.
