Calling all those Kroger shoppers in the Lower Peninsula, MI

Do any Kroger stores in the Lower Peninsula EVER do super doubles? If so, when was the last time, and where. I am in the Okemos/Lansing area.

I would like to know so I know whether to keep wondering when it will happen or to just start pouting and maybe try to get over it.

The Kroger stores in my area (SE MI) have done them in the past. It has been a loooong time, maybe since last spring. I keep waiting.

I think there were super doubles in February 2008. In Sept or October 2006 they had super doubles too. And then a few times in the winter/early spring of 2007. They seem to be having them less frequently now. :(

They had super doubles twice this spring, and once last fall as I recall. I spoke to a manager that I know earlier this summer, and he said that he thought that they would be doing it again, but he had no idea when that would be. He said that he only gets just enough notice to make sure that he is adequately staffed for the weekend.

I do drive to Owosso which is about 25 minutes away from EL, it always has super double. Might be something to think about when you have a great stock pile of coupons. They also have a gas station, so if you have points for cheaper gas you could always fill up before you leave to make it worth the trip. :)

They also have a gas station, so if you have points for cheaper gas you could always fill up before you leave to make it worth the trip. :)

The Owosso store ALWAYS has super doubles, or they do OFTEN? So they would double coupons up to $1? I need more details, lol. I would definitely go out there if I have enough coupons to make it worth my while!! I am checking their ad, but I don't see anything about SD. Maybe I missed it.

Well, I opened my eyes and an amazing thing happened!! I read it myself in the ad. Disregard all previous questions. Okay, NOW. Do you find that Owosso prices are about the same as our Lansing prices? How often do you go out to Owosso? I am really excited now that I know this. I am going to start planning a trip. I need to match up qs now!

I actually found the Owosso prices to be a tad bit cheaper than Lansing. They are really weird about coupons though. One time I went and the lady working the counter actually went through my coupons and I had to pull each item out that matched that coupon. It made for a VERY long check out! The other issue I had one time was at the gas station, be sure to BRING YOUR KROGER CARD! I usually never carry it because I always use my phone number, but that gas station does not allow that, you must swipe your card to get your discounted gas if you have enough gas reward points. Just a note, other times I've been in there and had no issues with coupons, so it's a hit or miss kinda thing.

I go about once a month, if there is a good deal happening, but I've actually been on a coupon break for a bit to run down our supply so I haven't been for about 2 months. LOL ;)
