Anyone Shop St Johns MI Kroger?

My daughter and I were trying to decide if it would be worth going to Kroger once a month or so... it's about an hour away.. and with the price of gas we don't want to go if it's not worth it.... looking for feedback and info from anyone who shops there... TIA

I live in Midland, and go to the Bay City kroger almost once a week because they double coupons to 1.00 instead of .50 like the one here. I think it is worth it then but I don't know if i would go otherwise unless they run another deal like mega event they did a couple of months ago. There isn't another kroger closer to you? Where are you traveling from? you can check the kroger website and see if there is one closer. HTH

We are coming from Lake Odessa.. and unfortunately.. St Johns is the closest.. we don't have any stores here that double at all.. so that would be a bonus.. but have no clue if the sales are worth driving there for... do they have better sales than Meijer? Thanks !

I lived in St. Johns for a while, and I generally found their prices to be higher than Meijer. For instance, if Meijer had something on sale 5 for $9, the Kroger sale price would be 5 for $10. I would do most of my shopping at Meijer and just head for Kroger for a couple of things. The only exception is when they had Super Doubles a couple of times, then that might have been worth a long drive if you have some good $1 off coupons.

Owosso doubles dollars, and I don't think it's that much farther than St. Johns. It might be worth the trip on a good week. I live in East Lansing, so it costs me about $6 to get to Owosso and back, so I just make sure I'll save a lot more than $6 by going to Owosso instead of a local store to make it worth my while. Also, they only double 3 of a kind. Come to think of it, the Lansing stores would be about the same distance as St. Johns, maybe a little farther, and they have unlimited doubles up to .50. I don't know what they do at St. Johns, but the unlimited doubles makes life easy. And there is a Meijer on the way to the Kroger in west Lansing.

The Kroger on Lake Lansing Road is WAY nicer than St. Johns and has a lot more brands/choices and better produce. It is twice as big and a lot cleaner/newer!
