I bought 6 cans for the first time a few days ago (even before the cat date), and $1 cat came out. But, I bought 12 cans yesterday, and nothing came out. Today, I bought 6 cans again, and $1 cat came out. Go figure!!!

The double dip does work through the 5th. I've done it several times now. This past week the price was also 5/$3, so totally free. And they pay you to take them out of the store. lmao Buy 60 cans @.60=$36.00 using the $3/5 cooupons and/or the free ones ( I used like 10 free coupons per transaction along with the $3/5 ones to try to not overwhem them) and you'll get a $5 and a $3 cat. YOu get paid $8 to take them away. Too cool. I'm out of coupons now, though. lol

i went to get more mighty dog today.
the clerk told me no,
because he cannot make the price i owe "zero"
he had to ask another clerk, and she said it was ok.
im basically telling him the store policy but he did it and it was all good.

I always have other items so my total doesn't appear to be zero. We have a 2% sales tax and I don't think coupons are allowed to cover that, so I'm never quite at zero. Maybe next time have a couple other items so it doesn't seem like you're paying nothing. They don't notice it so much that way.
