can someone please explain to me what exactly a catalina is?

A cat is a coupon that prints out when you purchase certain things, IE: buy 2 bottles of kraft BBQ get $1.00 off your next order... these coupons for OYNO print out of a different place then your register receipt prints out.. I personally do not consider a print out for a spacific item to be a catalina, such as save $1.00 when you buy 5 cans of friskies.. thats a coupon not a catalina

A catalina or cat, looks like a cash register receipt, it's long and skinny, and white, and prints out of a machine that's next to the cash register. Sometimes it is just advertising, and other times it is a coupon for so much off a certain product, or it can be a coupon for (example)$3 off your next order --that is how we get the "oyno" acronym that you might have seen being used in different threads. Many stores have them. If you have a Krogers or a Walgreens that you shop at, you will see these frequently.

Depends on the store. In my area (nw chicagoland area) the chains here take cats from any of the stores. (like jewel will take meijer, dominick's or walgreens, but only if they say manufacturer coupon on them)

The easiest thing for you to do is ask at your stores if they will take out stores cats.
