Yikes! I'm glad I don't typically shop on that side of town!!!
I was at Mason Kroger tonight with some IPs (non mega sale item) and the cashier manually undoubled them. I asked why and he said it was their policy not to double coupons that say "do not double or triple" on the top. This is news to me. I have never had this happen before. Can you clarify the actual policy? All I could say was this was inconsistent with other stores I had shopped at. The manager backed up the cashier and said that was their policy.

I just had this happen to me tonight (St. Marys store). They undoubled the tuna coupons manually and took them down to 49 cents. Never had that happen before but I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to go to CS. Should I go back or is this correct?
Oh sorry, I just noticed the OP said this was on coupons that say DND. Mine was just a coupon for the 99 cent tuna that is 49 cents after you buy 8. Still, earlier in the week, I got overage on this.
My contact from marketing gave me the input:
We do not direct our cashiers to override the doubling of any coupons unless required to do so by law. We are not allowed to double coupon on Alcohol, Tobacco or Pharmacy.
In other words, they should not be undoubling coupons per corporate.
Hope this helps!
Yes, I was surprised. I think if I go there again I might be sticking to UScan. =) I am so with you on your reaction. I was very frustrated. This has literally never happened to me before. The people behind me in line were frustrated. It was just bad all around. The cashier said that my $3.50 catalina (Fiber One bars) wasn't scanning because he had not undoubled the other DND coupons. What? Then he proceeded to remove the coupons and rescan, undoubling each one. Then when I complained again, he called over a manager, that said, yes, that is the policy. So, whatever, once again we have individual stores making up their own rules. I think I will just steer clear of there as often as possible.
THANK YOU CECISMOM AND MANDERS13 for your follow up on this!! I really hope it does not come up again, but it helps to know the corporate position. Thanks!!!

I just got back from the mason store and I noticed that my .40 coupons on nature valley granola bars did not double first time ever I just thought it was a new policy with the DND but according to previous entry that should have not beenthe case oh well not in the mood to argue I wasn't feeling the grocery store today anyway!![]()
Everyone, I again want to emphasize that their policy IS to double the DND 5 coupons. As the mod, I did clarify the policy with corporate. I am closing this thread to future discussion to avoid any further confusion.
Okay, one last and final comment. Site admin has also checked with Kroger, and spoken with corporate advertising. They concurred that, for the CINCINNATI REGION ONLY, what I stated above is true, that all coupons are to be doubled except where prohibited by law. Ther cashiers are not to manually undouble coupons. If they do, the contact in advertising advised site admin that the customer is to go to the service desk or call customer service. Now we see the wild goose chases that have happened to many of us when we call customer service, so I would say if you are in the Cincinnati region only, and you run into a problem, then you may need a customer service supervisor.
Keep in mind that if it is only one or 2 coupons, I would not personally argue it, just not worth my time. But more than that, technically they should not be manually undoubling them for OUR REGION. Just do what you think makes the most sense.
