Exciting new development for Kroger Mega...please read!

As you know, in the past corporate has always said no to this scenario:

You have an item included in the mega sale, you pay for said item with a coupon making it free, and then you get a .50 credit for each qualifying item purchased. Corporate has always said you can use this credit towards other groceries in the same order, but not towards a Kroger Gift Card. I have confirmed with their Director of Advertising that you ARE NOW ALLOWED to use this credit towards the purchase of a Kroger Gift Card. This is YMMV, since Kroger Managers are given leeway on running their stores and might now allow it. Here is her answer:

"Yes, this is true you can use towards a Gift Card. As you know you can’t receive money back, but you will need to ask for the Gift card during the order, not after it is totaled out."

Again, discussion is now allowed of doing this during the Mega Sales, as always please treat your managers respectfully if there are any issues.
