Whew! More milk! What a great price, too. I've been needing to stock back up, just too bad it's a limit of 8. That means multiple visits. :( And it's the only thing I really see, though I always take a trip down the cleaning and pet isles looking for clearanced/sale stuff I can get really cheap with my coupons. :)

We freeze these half-gallons when we stock up. Works great. We're on a half-gallon right now that "expired" back in March, lol.

I am curious to know, do you freeze the milk in its original container?
    TIA

Yes. I usually open it and pour out a little bit b/c it will expand.

Oh, and don't freeze skim, usually the consistency is weird when it is thawed. I only do 2% and whole milk.

We have frozen all types -- skim, 1%, 2%, vit D. Never a problem.

I pour out about a cup or so from each one into another container and freeze without a problem. To thaw, I put the container into a large bowl or sink of COLD water for a couple of hours. Then it goes into the fridge to finish thawing.

You don't need to pour out milk to freeze it, that's what the indents on the side of the jug are for, they pop out when you freeze. I've never had a problem freezing milk as is.
