Kroger "Value" Brand
What is everyone's experience with Kroger's "Value" store brand? I've noticed that they're generally even less expensive than the regular Kroger brand, but what's the quality like? Hard to mess up sugar too much, but what about chicken, canned veggies, etc?
Thanks!
Dave

re: Kroger "Value" Brand
To answer your question:
I have used the brand and i notice no difference. But, i did not grow up on name brand items. So as it may be different to some to me its just the same.
Are you talking about the FMV line? Never had a problem with sugar or a few toher items i bought.
As for the chicken White and blue package right? I get it because it is cheaper sometimes. Havent noticed a huge difference other then the wings, they seem to be pigeon wings lol

re: Kroger "Value" Brand
I asked Fred Meyer once (a Kroger Co) about their FMV brand sugar, if it was cane or beet. All I got told was it depended on their supplier at the time. *blinks* There's no way to tell on the package, they don't tell you. I prefer to stick with cane sugar, so I stick with C&H.
I sometimes will buy the FMV frozen veggies if they're on sale, and frequently buy the FMV bread as it's cheapest. About the only canned veggies I buy are green beans, sometimes creamed corn.

re: Kroger "Value" Brand
We reguarly use the value brand sugar and on occasion i get the value brand wheat bread and once their chicken breasts i believe it was. I have been happy with what limited items i have purchased from the Value line.

re: Kroger "Value" Brand
My ex works in the Kroger meat dept and said that their chicken comes from one of the major name brand companies (I think he said Tyson).
