I don't shop anywhere near you, but I do have a suggestion for you. Maybe your store manager or customer service will do special orders for you, so that you can utilize your coupons. My Safeway will do a special order for me with "payment" (i.e. coupons) up front. Like our Lipton Pure leaf teas are $1 each, they didn't have many on the shelf so they did a special order for me at the current price and rang my coupons up when they placed the order. They gave me the receipt and called me when the items came in. It's win-win for the store and the customer. I get the freebies that I want, they actually sell more of the product. It's much better than a raincheck because of the potential for unlimited quantities.

Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a special order of 210 pkgs of hot dogs from Superfresh. I knew they wouldn't have the quantity on hand that I needed, so I called ahead of time and I just have to pick them up. That leaves plenty for the rest of the shoppers and the store makes a great sale.

It may not stop the shelf clearer, but at least the rest of you would be able to get your freebies as well.

210 pkgs of hot dogs?!?!?

I'm typically buying in 10 and 20 (never more than 10 at a time.) I thought I was a decent stockpiler...but 210? I wouldn't even begin to know how to use that many hot dogs!

I order stuff by the case at the commisary at Wright Patterson before I drive up there. It works well. I admit the idea of 210 packs of hot dogs has me blown away. Are you having a big BBQ or something? We did a Army fund rasior a long time ago selling hot dogs oh how that would have gone if I could get that many hotdogs free. It would have been a beautiful thing

Edit: ok I just need to know. Were you able to get a smokin deal on hot dog buns to

Great PSA Manders!

I shop for both my family of 4 and my parents and siblings. I rarely walk out of the store with more than 10 of an item. It makes me so sad when I've put the effort into ordering, gathering, clipping and organizing coupons for a specific sale of something that we actually need (hello, Huggies wipes a few weeks ago-thanks lady who walked out with literally an entire cart full) and I wrangle my 3yr old and 15 month old in the store only to find out the shelf has been cleared.
With the economy the way it is these days couponing/stockpiling is the only way we stay out of the red each month.

I agree. I have a prob. w/it here as well and I don't even know where you guys are at. It's very frustrating to say the least. I buy for our family of 5, help out family & friends and then do alot of donating and I dont' clear the shelves.

Seems very greedy and a bit over the top. It does make it hard for those of trying to use cpns correctly. Esp. w/those that use cpns fraudulently.

We have a few shelf clearers here also, but i tend to only clear the shelves on the last day of the sale. I did get about 100 cans of the Pledge when it was on sale at kroger for free, but most of the stores had sufficient supply and even on the final day, there magically appeared more on the shelf.. Heaven!!!

We have shelf clearers around here too. Not so much at Kroger (we have a limit of 3 coupons per like item). Around here it is Walgreens and Walmart.

I agree with everyone here. Don't ruin it for those of us that are not shelf cleaners. We have a shelf cleaner here that donates 95% of her freebies. That is all fine and good, but leave some for those of us that are trying to cut costs and feed our families.

I have a family of 7 and only 'clear a shelf' if there are only 1 -3 items left on it, and I am in need of them.

I have to be honest, one of my fears is that now that I have learned to coupon so well, and have a good stockpile going (after a year of doing this, I can finally say that), that stores are going to get tired of shelf clearing and coupon fraud and will put even greater limits on using coupons. Let's hope that doesn't happen....

Wow! I stopped in the Fairfield store this morning on my way to work. The cashier said that it is a guy and his wife. They are there everytime a shipment comes in, without fail. They wipe the shelves clean everytime, and then no one else gets in on the deal. How selfish, IMHO. How will this person make his living once the unlimited doubles are taken away?
