How does d/t coupons work?

Hello everyone. I am very VERY new to couponing. I'm a single mom that left the father of my child in the middle of night. I saw a few minutes of extreme couponing and thought I could do this myself to save money and be able to feed me and my child :). So with that said.... I have been doing some research and I am close to going on my first shopping trip. I have all my current adds, coupons organized in a small baseball card mini album ( I dont have many coupons yet but I am building my stock), and I have called all 3 stores I will be using for shopping. I found out that our local walmart takes online coupons, regular coupons, and other stores coupons. I also found out that my local kroger doubles and triples coupons -- and this is were I'm a little confused.

My local Kroger stated that they will triple up to 39 and double up to 50. What? So if I take a coupon thats 20 they will double it to 40?

Sorry I'm I seem a little slow but I just don't understand.

It looks like they will triple a coupon that is .20 to .60. They will double .50 to $1.00

.20 coupon = .60 (with triple)
.35 coupon = $1.05 (with triple)
.40 coupon = .80 (it doubles)
.50 coupon = $1.00 (doubles)

you probably wont hit too many triples...but that is a nice option!

im still unclear about how a coupon doubles up to .99, i have a coupon for 50 cents off something,how much exactly will it double to?

It will only double up to $1.00.

ok what about a 75. coupon it'll double to 1.50?

If you are talking about your Kroger, no .75 will just be .75.
