I guess the markdown you are referring to is like a clearance price? Where the bar code has been replaced with a special price sticker? If so, the reasoning may be that the scan will not register as the specific item sold, but instead as a generic store markdown. So technically the coupon wouldn't have a matching transaction when it comes to reimbursement. Make sense?
I don't think it would hurt to call corporate, just don't be disappointed if they defer to the local store's interpretation. |
