Here To Help Kroger's Coupon Policy *As of 8/9/11

After a phone call to Kroger Customer Service and a lengthy discussion with a SM, here is what I have for a Kroger Coupon Policy:

Manufacturer's Coupons (MQs):
  • Kroger will accept all MQs
  • Kroger will accept up to 10 like MQs per order
  • Kroger will double up to 2 like MQs per order up to .50 value (ie: the first two .50 MQs you present will double to $1; the other 8 will only ring up at face value)
  • Should you present more than 10 of the same MQs, the cashier will give you back the extra MQs
  • The SM has the right to refuse any MQs
  • The SM has the right to limit the number of orders you are allowed to ring up in order to avoid the coupon doubling policy
Internet Coupons/Printables (IPs):
  • Kroger will accept all IPs so long as the bar code scans. If the bar code will not scan, the coupon will not be accepted
  • Kroger will accept up to 10 like IPs per order so long as the PINs (the 4 digits located above the bar code area) are different
  • Kroger will double up to 2 like IPs per order up to .50 value (ie: the first two .50 IPs you present will double to $1; the other 8 will only ring up at face value)
  • Should you present more than 10 of the same IPs, the cashier will give you back the extra IPs
  • Should you present 2 or more IPs with the same PIN, the cashier will reject all but 1 IP
  • The SM has the right to reject all IPs presented in a transaction should the same PIN be used on any one coupon due to potential fraudulent coupon use
  • The SM has the right to refuse any IPs
  • The SM has the right to limit the number of orders you are allowed to ring up in order to avoid the coupon doubling policy
E-Coupons/Digital Coupons (ECs):
  • Kroger allows customers to load ECs onto their Kroger Card from the Kroger website's digital coupon area, Cellfire, P&G eSaver, etc
  • When loading ECs to your card, be sure to check the website for how long it takes for them to load to your Kroger Card. For best results, wait at least 24 hours before trying to use them
  • Kroger will not double any ECs loaded onto a Kroger Card
  • Kroger will not accept any stacking with ECs (ie: using a MQ/IP & an EC for the same item). The system will alert the cashier should this happen, and your MQ/IP will be returned. Plus, it's coupon fraud (you're applying 2 coupons to one item).
  • Should an EC from the Kroger website not be deducted from your order, the store cannot fix the problem. Instead, you must call 1-888-553-3003 for the money to be placed back onto your Kroger card. Make sure you have your receipt ready when you call. If you do not have your receipt, you will be unable to retrieve your savings.
  • Should an EC from a non-Kroger website (Cellfire, P&G eSaver, etc) not come off of your order, neither the store nor Kroger Customer Service can credit your Kroger Card.
U-Promise & SavingStar ECs:
  • These ECs are different in that they can be stacked with your MQs/IPs for more savings, but you will not see any difference on the price you pay in the store since they are banked on their specific websites. For more information, see the U-Promise or SavingStar websites.
  • Should your U-Promise/SavingStar EC savings not be added to your account, you must contact U-Promise or SavingStar for help. Neither the store, nor Kroger Customer Service can credit your Kroger Card should these not be credited to your account. If you do not have your receipts when you contact the U-Promise or SavingStar Customer Service, you will be unable to retrieve your savings.

*Note: Keep in mind, the SM has the final say in what his/her store's coupon policy is. If your store allows you to double more than 2 coupons per trip, please do not post about it since Kroger Corporate now states that they will only double 2 coupons.

Default Need an opinion....everyone's got one, right?

Need everyone's opinion.....

I tried to buy some Wholly Guacomole this morning that was discounted due to the upcoming "Best by" date. The cashiers along with the person at the service counter stated that they aren't to accept coupons on items that are marked down or considered "manager's special" because they are already discounted. A coupons IS NOT a discount!!!!!! Am I right?

Looking all over the Kroger.com site not finding a coupon policy, I came to HCW and find this policy. Are they covered by the above saying:

The SM has the right to refuse any MQs
This adds another reason to be frustrated by a particular show as well as our local Kroger. My question.....Would contacting corporate be a futile effort because of this clause?

I have been able to use coupons on managers specials
they all beep
but I was told numerous times,
as long the coupon is not more than the marked price
they push it through.

I guess they are not doing this anymore at our local Kroger. I ran into another couponer who had the same experience that I did within the same few days. They must have had a meeting changing this.
