    QUESTION Changes to coupon policy?

This info is coming from a friend of a friend of a friend who is employed by Kroger. I have not confirmed anything, but apparently they have been hit with alot of copied IP's lately and a very rude customer with a whole cartload of mega sale pasta and alot of q's to get them all free. Maybe it's just that one store, but I'm hearing that they are implementing these new rules:

Will no longer accept free product IP's

Will no longer accept BOGO IP's

If a product is on sale for more than 70% off retail (ie, mega sale pasta) they will no longer take any coupons on those items.

Has anyone else heard anything or ran into any problems? I'm really hoping this isn't true.

which kroger's you talking about. they can adjust the rules the way the manager sees fit.

if it was me, i would go in and talk to the manager, and have a paper to hand him with the CIC website info and photocopies of a bricks ip with the check code hi-lited (you know the one that is different for each coupon printed) and then the same for smartsource, redplum and e-centives. and then include a PDF so you can show them that pdf's do exist, but they will have the same codes.

this will give them a way of checking ip's as they come in and train their cashiers. of course, on your flyer, i would cover the upc codes so no one can photocopy the ip and try to use it.

then tell the manager, what you heard and you use coupons legally and hope that this information can help them stop those that are photocopying ip's.

last year, my local krogers taught their employees how to do this. a few tried to look and i had to point them to the right number to look at.

I got the kroger coupon policy this past Friday. I had problems with rude customer service person, manager got involved, coupon policy came out... long story short I was right. I had asked for a raincheck for the pasta, and the lady told me I couldn't use that coupon because it would make the item *gasp* free....

    Anyway...

    Coupon policy updated March 2011

    1. There is a limit of 10 like item coupons redeemed in one shopping trip=24 hours

    2. There is a limit of 2 like item coupons that iwll be doubled; additional coupons for the like item will be redeemed at face value (Funny, the computer always doubles more than that - never knew that was "policy"- not complaining though)

    3. Digital coupons loaded to a Plus Card will redeem automatically at the end of the transaction. Paper manufacture coupons will not be redeemed for same item if a digital coupon has already been redeemed. (limit one
    manufacturer coupon per item.)

    4. Digital coupons and store coupon may be redeemed on same item.

    5. To protect the interest of our company we will not accept Internet coupons for the following reasons.

    Coupons does not scan
    No expiration date
Coupon is for Free product without additional purchase
High Dollar value (coupons value is 75% or more off the value of the product)
Coupon appears our of portion, blurry, no picture, or obvious duplicates
    Altered coupon in any way

    6. In the event we owe cah back from copons at the end of your transaction, from coupons redeemed, exceeding the value of the items; an amount of $5.00 or more will be given in the form of a Kroger Gift Card.

    7. We will accept Catalina generated "Manufacturer" coupons from other retailers if the coupon scans.

To me the "Value of the product" is not the sale price, but regular retail price.
