How does Kohl's cash and transaction discount work in conjunction? I had a 15% of my entire transaction coupon and $40 in Kohl's cash.
When figuring out my subtotal, and reading how Kohl's cash was advertised, but having never been to a Kohl's before the time I got the cash and the second time that I used it, I figured it would be like actual cash and figured that it'd be:
(numbers are just examples)
subtotal: $60
-$9 (15% transaction discount)
- $40 Kohl's cash
Pay $11 OOP
But how it rang up was:
subtotal: $60
- $40 Transaction discount (did NOT say Kohl's cash on the receipt and now today I got a reminder email that my kohl's cash is going to expire and to use it by exp date)
- $4.50 (15% transaction discont on what was left)
Pay $15.50
Could someone explain how it should've worked. I feel ripped off, and not just with the money difference, I feel that the Kohl's cash is explained incorrectly. I expressed all of this to CS and she herself didn't know how it was SUPPOSED to work but called a manager over who said it was correct. When I questioned why my receipt didn't show my kohl's cash number (like someone told me it would), she dismissed the question as the cashier came walking over, asked what she did wrong, the manager said nothing and asked me to leave.
And to think I opened a charge card up the week before which I know they get something for!
