Kohl's ~ Question Question about return of mechandise bought using kohl's cash

This is my first experience using kohls cash ....

Yesterday I made a purchase using some kohls cash as part of the payment. Turns out that I have to return the items purchased . Any idea/ experience as to how the refund will work?...Will I receive the value of kohls cash in the form of mechandise credit or will I loose it completely ?
My Kohls cash would have expired on nov10th. Will this help the refund and can they track this information on my kohls charge card? The sales associate assured me that I wont loose the kohls cash in the event of a return, but I am not so sure,

Please help,I dont want to loose $20 .....

I would suggest that you call the store where you made the purchase. I looked it up on Kohls customer service page, but the answer is pretty vague:

* Purchases that earn Kohl's Cash Coupons or purchases in which Kohl's Cash Coupons were tendered may result in an adjusted refund amount and/or decreased coupon value.

Is it possible to just exchange what you bought?

I would think that if you did an even exchange, it wouldn't matter how you paid.

The few times I have had to return items using Kohls cash , I have always received a merchandise credit to use in store....The rest of the amount not using the Kohls cash usually went back on my Kohls card...It will be refunded however you paid. So all should be good when you do the return...NO reason you should lose your Kohl's Cash

I can ditto what Rapunzel said......I had to return something that did not fit....used some Kohl's cash and they credited that part to a GC. Hope it all works out for you! :-)
