Tell them YOU want STORE credit instead of credit back to your moms card. If they don't have any more then what else could they do? Just make sure you have your mom's receipt or credit card, because you would only get the clearance price.

remove the plastic paper lying on top of the machine and u can CLEARLY see grease all over it.. it was clearly opened used n returned
called kohls- the 2 in my area do not have any in stock - also this is an item that they only get during xmas and all they can do is give me the credit back on my moms card
i want the machine.. tried to ask the customer service rep that answered the line what they do in these situations n she just kept saying that i needed to talk to housewares...i said this is not a housewares ques - it is a cust service question.. she wouldn't even let me finish - just kept repeating that i needed to talk to housewares.. of course i never got her name before she transferred me
has this happened to anyone? what should i do? i can't believe that they never looked at it when it was returned. it is obviously used and u can see by just opening it.. u don't even need to unwrap the machine to notice
kohls just opened here this year and this is my first experience dealing with them - so far i am def not impressed - do any of you that r reg shoppers there havce any advice

As a former Customer Service Desk Assoc, they have to give you a store credit if you ask. We were trained to always ask if they wanted the store credit or the original tender on each return.
I'm sorry you had this bad experience, but I'm not surprised. If this happened 8 years ago when I was working for them I would have been, but it seems that the bigger they get the worse their customer service is getting.

I'd just return it. I'm not sure what kind you got but you can buy them at Amazon.com, JCPenney.com and other places for 119.00 to 139.00.

Can they order the Nu Wave for you? It is available on their site so they should be able to have it sent to the store for exchange.
BTW, I got one for Christmas and I LOVE it! I promise it will be worth it when you do get yours exchanged!
You could always return it, get your mom's credit card credited, then go on Amazon to get one instead. It would prevent the hassle from the store since they sound like they're trying to "pass the buck".
Back when I used to work for a department store, these kinds of things happen. People bring it back, it looks like it is still sealed, they tell you they didn't use it, you've got a million returns coming back, you think it is sealed.
If they don't have it in stock now, they don't have it in stock, they can't make it appear. You can get a credit back to your mom's account and find out where else you can get this thing and purchase it there, or you can get a store credit and get something else. Unfortunately, there aren't any other options. The only other thing they could do is check their stockroom for another return but you may have a similar problem with that too.
