Kohl's ~ Question: Question about $5 Coupon Please!

Does the $5 purchase have to be $5 before tax or not? I put a hold on a pair of shoes for DH that are $4.99 (forgot coupon at home). Will it work if it is over $5 after tax or does it have to be $5 pre-tax? Thanks for the help!

I bought a candle there for 4.99 before with it and the girl at the register just adjusted it down. You won't get your penny back though ;)
I don't actually know what the policy is on this, but they did it for me.

I tried using my q yesterday and it was for about $4.50 and I thought, too, that she'd just adjust it down. She told me I had to spend $5 pre-tax to be able to use the q.

I've been using these Q's like crazy. Yes it does have to be $5 before tax if you don't want any hastle. You can only use one per purchase. They will let you do two transactions per visit with them though. So if you bought two $5 items you could do two transactions to get them both for free with the Q or pay a few cents for tax. Some cashiers are picky and say you can only use one per visit but for the most part they don't mind allowing the 2 transactions. Any more than this and you will get hastle and a manager called to the front.

Can I ask how people get these coupons? I have seen them on Ebay and I am a very avid Kohl's shopper and have never seen these. I never wanted to buy them because I was afraid if they are valid. Thanks for the insight.

sIGN UP with your email address online and they will send you a coupon or you can pick up a coupon in the store at the register and leave your email address with the cashier, you will then get a coupon in your inbox to print out. I used one for a toy that was priced at $3.50 and he adjusted it so the item was free.

i have had the coupon adjusted and have been told i had to spend $5 pre tax . so it is mileage may vary

the cashier let me use it for 3.19 item. it works like a giftcard and wrote the remaining credit on the coupon and gave it back to me.

Since July 09 I have purchased 4 or 5 sets of these (usually sold in quantities of 20) on Ebay. People get multiple quantities by registering dozens of different emails to have the coupons sent to. I swear there are people who sell so many of these they make a living off them. I couldn't believe the number being sold just before and after Christmas for $8 per set or more.

Also, there are people on Ebay selling the instructions to getting the coupons yourself. Hope this helps answer your question.
