Kmart ~ Other: Sears/Kmart to close 100-120 stores

I just bought tires from Sears. I'm going to be really mad if they close that store!

They turned our Kmart into a Sears Grand about 2 years ago, then back into a Kmart about 6 months ago. It's like what are they doing...seriously?

Jolly... I don't think they've released the list yet.

I'm sure the 2 Kmarts by me and the 1 Sears will be on the list.. they're all crappy stores.

No, they haven't. It said a final determination was still in the works. I know the Kmart/Sears Grand/Kmart store will be closed for sure. It's a sad, saaaad little place.

Sears is trying to force shoppers into buying online here. A couple months ago, it ran a big "Lowest Price Ever" sale on a small kitchen appliance on the front page of the Sunday ad here. When we got to the store we were informed the corporation would not be shipping the item to the store and we had to order it online if we wanted it. When we explained we wanted to see it first, we were informed that was not possible. It really disgusted us, so we drove to Walmart and used the price match. Sad commentary, because Sears pushed our sale right out the door. Haven't set foot in the store since.
We tried to buy a refrigerator there more than a year ago. We chose one that had a big sign on the door that said "Take me home today!" However, we were informed we would have to wait two weeks for them to order one. That doesn't do you much good when you have ice chests full of thawing food at home. Lowe's wouldn't honor the next day delivery promised, but at least delivered the day after.

Thanks for posting the list. There are 2 KMart stores within a couple of miles of my house...one is east of me, and the other is soutwest...but they're both only about 3 miles away. One is a dump! Old store...never has any work done on it. The air conditioning hasn't worked in 10 years!! The other is an older store too, but it's in better shape. Not much...but better than the first one.

Neither is on the list.
