    Clearance Kmart Easter 75% off

I was in Kmart yesterday and the Easter stuff (not candy) was at 75% off. I know this may be a YMMV as I think each store does their own markdowns.

I was after the baskets. I use them for gift baskets and try to buy ones that don't necessarily look Eastery, if you kwim. These are great to use through the year as gift baskets, you know to put my free/cheap stuff from couponing

I don't get why the candy is always the last to go at 75%, it always made more sense to me to clearance the stuff with expiration dates
Raising children(especially teens) is like being pecked to death by a chicken

In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.

I used to work for K Mart and the candy was always the first thing we marked down! Not that we usually had a lot left because we didn't. But one year we had a ton of jelly beans and Easter lilies. Those of us who worked the closing shift the night before Easter (in those days we were closed on Easter) were told to each take a lily and a bag of jelly beans with us. In fact a couple of hours before closing we gave away a bag of jelly beans to each customer as they left. The remaining bags were sold for 10 cents apiece and it took a couple of weeks to sell them all. We really did have a ton!

The other items didn't always get marked down. Sometimes they were just boxed up and held to sell the following year. It really depended on which store manager we had at the time. Some were a lot more prone to marking things down and getting rid of them. Others not so much.
