    FYI Kmart Gaming Coupon Promotion

    I had a few inquiries on this and was curious myself so I did some investigating.

    Lately Kmart has been advertising when you buy select game titles, select systems, or a combination of either/both you will receive a gaming coupon. After I talked w/ corporate and the store (no response via email - shame shame) here is what I was told:

    What is a gaming coupon? These are basically OYNO’s or Cat’s that can be used on any future gaming purchase.

    What is a gaming purchase? Games, systems, accessories, etc

    The ad says featured titles but shows only one systems (ie Rockband for Xbox 360), what if I buy the title for another system (ie Rockband for PS3) ? According to both corporate and the store - it doesn’t matter what system you buy for as long as you buy the title. This is unconfirmed right now, but I’m going to test it! lol

    It also appears this only applies to game titles. If the ad specifies get $XX wyb a Wii, that is it. You will not get a $XX for buying the PS3, kwim?

    When are the coupons valid? Some are valid right away where others are dated for the following week etc. Hopefully we will get some feedback on dates. It looks like you have at least a week or more to use them.

    Do they roll? I don’t know. But, I’m going to test it to find out. If they do roll this could mean huge savings for games!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    My test will be sometime this week but I plan to do the following:
    The Sims3 for PS3 (advertised is Xbox, but testing the any system theory) $59.99
    Get $20.00
    If available right away: Rock Band 3 $59.99 - $20 coupon from Sims = $39.99 + Get new $20 gaming coupon
    -At this point 2 new titles have cost $~100 instead of $~120 plus I have another $20 OYNO
    If not available right away: Waiting until next week’s ad and will try another title to see what happens.
    Some other thoughts - If you bought the Xbox system on sale for $199 and got the $50 SYWRpts (these can take a week or two to show on your acct) you could roll that into a game title, paying roughly $10 for it and get a $game coupon back. Or you can try the reverse and buy the game first using the coupon on the system and get the $50 SYWRpts.
    Thanks, Jen. I'll be watching this thread. DS loves games, but currently has a Wii. Yes, he's been bugging me for a PS3, but I don't see that happening unless I can get a killer deal on one.
    Last year, I racked up on games with the Target Q, but I haven't seen anything yet for this year. So, hopefully, this will work out well at Kmart. (Fingers crossed!)
    Mikki - w/ too bad he doesn’t want an Xbox lol- that deal is pretty nice w/ the $50 SYWRpts bonus and you figure your regularly earned points which would be like $20 - so spend $199.99 (+tax) get $70 back- Nice!
    I wish I had something to report -but unfortunately I haven’t made it to Kmart for this yet. I was going to try this deal last week, but used the money I set aside for my game on jeans I found on clearance there! (Had to, the boys needed jeans).
    Has anyone tried the deal yet and found out if they roll?
    Xbox is looking better all the time. Then again, I don't want to have to replace all those darn games for yet another console. Looks like he'll just have to live with the Wii for a while.
    I was in KMart today and decided to grab a few things for DS (birthday and Christmas in Dec.). So rather than try to hide everything for another 1 1/2 months, I put it into layaway. Two items were Wii games. To my surprise, I got a $10 off $10 toy coupon. It's valid 11/9 - 2/1/11.
    Here are the restrictions printed on the coupon:
    $10 off regular, sale, and/or clearance priced toys purchase in-store of $10 or more (before taxes and after other discounts have been applied) in a single transaction. Cannot combine with any other coupon for the same item(s) and cannot double. Limit (1) Kmart Savings Coupon per transation. Not valid on Buy One, Get One events; non-merchandise; items sold in infants, sporting goods or electronics; prior purchases; partial-paid special order items; if acquired from a non Sears Holdings-approved channel; if reproduced; and/or where prohibited by law. Any other use constitutes fraud. Coupon value appllied and pro-rated across all qualifying items; including qualifying itmes purchased in addition to the minimum requirements or limits and will be deducted from any refund. Cash value is 1/20 of a cent. Valid at all Kmart store locations except Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Hawaii and Guam. Associate: scan, collect and turn in to cash office. DO NOT SEND TO CLEARING.
    Sooooo, I don't think this will roll into more games or game consoles, since they are in the Electronics dept.
    That is so odd though because the coupon is supposed to be for your next gaming purchase. Not that I’d be complaining entirely because I can get the older kids a game and the younger one a toy! lol Thanks for the info!
