Kmart ~ Question: New Year of Doubles?????

People have been saying they've been told at their stores doubles are done for good because of fraud... :sad: I sure do hope that the cashiers are wrong!

If super doubles are gone for good, I'll miss the deals, but I definitely won't miss going to that store. Dealing with all their ever-changing rules and their register system that takes forever always made me wonder if it was really worth it to go...but yet I always did. Now I don't have to worry about it :) Although I do now have a $5 gift card from the Kellogg's deal a while back. I was saving it for oop during doubles, but now maybe I'll just have to burn it.

I emailed Kmart today to ask, just to see if I got another answer than before. This is what the guy said:

Thank you for contacting Kmart regarding the Kmart Double Coupon Event.
We appreciate your interest in this promotion. This event was for select
participating Kmart locations from 9/27 - 10/3/09. At this time there
are no plans for a Double Coupon Event.

I havent done double there since april? It was a hassle and honestly, they are over priced.

Like another PP said, with the ever changing rules, it was a HEADACHE!


Who actually shops there if they aren't doing doubles?

I went there once (during christmas) and paid $2-$3 MORE per item then i could have gotten at walmart. (At the point and time (christmas eve!) walmart was a ZOO so the extra $6 i paid was worth it! LOL!)

Since the KMart employees got so flustered about the Double Coupon Events...
They won't offer them anymore..

And now, with the new K'Ching card (or whatever it's called) - offering savings ...
I think they're more focused on that.

Sure miss the Doubles tho.... :(

I actually went to Kmart on Sunday for $5 dog food ($15 sale on Beneful less $10 Kmart gift card from prescription transfer that I decided to burn). First trip in since the last doubles. The cashier said she had not heard that doubles were over for good, but did not know of any upcoming double events.

I will miss the Kmart doubles. Sure, the store was dirty, disorganized and overpriced, but that just made the thrill of the deal even more exciting! The SC Johnson cats during the last go-around were great too. I am super stocked on Pledge!

this might sound stupid, so sorry in advance, but is it possible that they need to do their taxes for the year to figure out if they can afford to do doubles again? i've heard that they actually lose money when they do doubles because the manufacturer of the coupon only pays face value and kmart pays what it doubles to.
