I just called my store and they said YES they are having it.:shrug7:
eta I've just called 4 stores and they have not received any info that they will not be having doubles.
I just called Kmart customer service to see if a store was doubling in my area and this is the memo they received:
The financial performance surrounding this event is being re-evaluated and business has decided to cancel this double coupon event. All double coupon events on the calendar after 8/30 - 9/5 through January 2010 are on hold indefinitely pending further evaluation.

This promotion has not been canceled. This is the word many of us received earlier this week re: future doubles. The key word is after.
SAY WHAT?!?!
So theres only three days left of double coupons and then they are gone for ever?! Or a while till they reevaluate the fact that no one is shopping there?
Is this confirmed for real?

Not forever, just for 2010. At least this is what we are hearing from Corporate.
My guess is they are putting them on hold to re-evaluate and possibly fix the issues they are having. I wouldn't be surprised if when this thing starts but up that the registers will be programmed to only take the limit, train cashiers no handle coupons and not accept fraudulent coupons etc...
If I was Kmart I would put this on hold too. It's gotten out of hand.
yeah it is definitely out of hand, and it seems like i've seen a lot more people getting more the 10 coupon limit this time around than in the past. I hope that they find a better way to run the promotion i just hope that they don't make it even more difficult to take advantage of. The 25$ minimum purchase is good in theory and i have gotten 25$ of product each time i've done a deal, but the registers are still setup so that the coupons will double regardless of how much you spend, so i don't really see the point in have the 25$ min. purchase requirement especially since the stores near me want the items with the coupon, so they never actually see the subtotal before coupons.
New baby in the house so I am couponing lightly!
Yes-they need "smarter" registers to make the limits effective. I would agree that it seems to have gotten out of hand.
I think people are so worried about them not doing doubles again, they figure they're going to see what they can get away with this last time. Again, Kmart needs "smarter" registers.
