Kmart ~ Question: K-Mart-$14 CAT scenarios

So when both my sis and I were done checking out and went to the car, I told her I didn't get my catalina and she said it was hanging on the machine when she walked by to go to the bathroom! WTH! And I realized that even if I had used coupons, my total was still over $30, so I should have at least gotten a $2-3 catalina for spending over $20. I was irate and turned right back around to go inside, as the cashier who helped me walked out the door for a break or something. A manager was called, everyone looked for the catalina on the floor and in garbage cans, we tried to find the other associate who had walked up to talk to my cashier, since she was the only person who might have taken it, but she said she hadn't seen it. Finally the management agreed to refund my money and ring everything up again just to see what would happen. I don't know why, but they gave me $43.xx back, though I only paid $30.xx, so I took that cash with me to pay for the new purchase of the same stuff. This new transaction took forever, the same cashier had to come back and do it on the same register. I thought if that machine isn't working, we will have to spend half an hour at another machine, good grief. The cashier was punching in all the UPC codes from my original receipt, including the coupon codes, so you can imagine how long it took to punch in like 10 digits CORRECTLY so many times, it was stupid. I swore nothing was going to happen, the manager said it wouldn't cuz I used coupons, so did the cashier, but angels sang when that $14 cat shot out, my goodness I was relieved. Then the manager wanted to know who it was that walked up and talked to my cashier during the original transaction, I didn't know positively cuz these were all people I had never seen before, the cashier wouldn't say the woman's name and I think the woman denied seeing it when they asked her. So either the woman didn't want to admit to grabbing it (thinking a previous customer had earned it) and throwing it away, or she actually stole it. What a mess. Thank God my sister saw that thing hanging there or I never would have had the nerve to go back and argue. Then, the total was the same as it was the first time, so only $30.xx, but they had given me a refund of $43.xx. I tried to give the extra money back to the manager cuz it wasn't fair for me to make money on the deal, but she said I deserved it for all the time I spent there getting it straightened out and there really was no way to get the computer system to take it back. Good grief. I'll go and spend it at another Kmart tomorrow so I don't feel guilty.

I had some issues this week and had to go through a similar refund with the cashier putting in all the upc's too, only i bought like 10 toys and a lot of the items were x/2 so it was a lot of items. I too, ended up getting the fully amount back rather than what i paid oop, and i told cs this was not right that the computers need a better way in refunding, i hated taking the extra $$, but they were really good about it all.

Are we allowed to mix and match the Unilever with the Kimberly Clark for the cat? Would this work? (Assuming, of course, that everything was in stock!)

Total before tax + coupons = 52.60

Use

4 - 1.50/1 Huggies coupons - doubled = 12.00
2 - 2.00/1 Dove Visibly Smooth IP = 8.00
2 - 1.00/1 Degree IP coupons = 4.00

= 28.60 total (+tax) - get $14 cat?

Did I do that right? Will it work to mix the two?

You would be good to go, although I would use the $2 off Huggies coupons to save you an extra $2.

Thanks a bunch! I also forgot I have a $5/50 coupon to lower as well. So that would bring it down to 23.60. Also - are there 2.00 Huggies coupons out just for diapers? I know there are for Pullups, but I don't need any pullups!

Hope this is not a repeat but limited on time. Yesterday when I did the cat deal it printed AFTER I paid. Every other time since this promotion started it has printed as soon as the cashier hits total.

Same with me today when I went to do the deal the second time. At the other store I went to Sunday it printed before I paid, but this time it wasn't on the machine until I completed the transaction. The cashier at the store today was really friendly about it, she wanted the thing to print for me. For some reason, her register was printing cats at another register, like 50 feet away, but the cashier was willing to walk over and check before I paid. The "free Milk Bone" cat printed from buying 2 Hartz dog treats, but the $14 cat wasn't there. I said "let me go ahead and pay and see if it comes out, otherwise I'll talk to a manager". So I paid and she walked back over, thankfully it was there.
