Kmart ~ Question: K-Mart-$14 CAT scenarios

Math geeks get it to exactly 50.00 and when the 7.00 cat prints go to CS and trade it in for your 14.00 dollar gift card with a hang-tag from the promotion stating spend 50 get 14 OYNP.

I went this morning and it didn't go well at all. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? Here's what I bought:

Windex $3.29
Lil Swimmers $7.99
Huggies Wipes $1.99
Pull Ups $9.99
3 Huggies size 3 @ $9.99 each
TOTAL: $53.23

Used
$0.40 for Windex = $0.80
$1 for Lil Swimmers = $2
$0.75 for Wipes = $1.50
$2 for Pull Ups = $4
3 $1.50 for Huggies diapers = $9.00

Tax was $2.90, so my total OOP was $38.84 (sucko!).

Then, the $14 Catalina didn't print out! The managers said it was because I had to spend $50 AFTER coupons, but you all are coming up with scenarios that were so low OOP, that the managers had to be incorrect. HELP!

I'm in the same boat. I didn't ask the manager because I had already been there FOREVER because everything was out of stock. I ended up doing the following:

21.87 3 Dove Body wash
8.97 3 qtips
19.98 2 huggies natural diapers
-------
$50.82
- 6.00 2 $3/1 Huggies Natural IPs
- 6.00 3 $1/1 qtip q's, doubled
-12.00 3 $2/1 Dove body wash q's

Even if the "after coupons" argument were true, I still should have earned the $3 cat. I had been there forever, constantly finding that they were out of everything I wanted (pantene, cheerios, etc.). I finally decided to go with this deal because 1) my sister can only use Dove sensitive body wash, and 2) my friend is having a baby any day and the diapers will make a nice gift. $13 net OOP after cat would be a great deal for all that stuff. All I got was a survey at the bottom of my receipt, and then separate coupons for $5/25 HBA and $5/50 Grocery and drug coupons.

In the same transaction, I also bought:
$6.58 2 Low Sodium V8
$3.98 2 Ragu Traditional

- 4.00 2 $1/1 V8 q's, doubled

thriftycj and angelaOrder - both your transactions look right and you should have gotten the $14 - coupons are not a factor...I've done this at least 15 times between this and last months doubles. I always ask the cashier first if their coupon printer s working (if I say catalina they look at me like I'm crazy). I almost forgot today and 1/2 way through I asked and she said no it hasn't printed anything all day. So I told her to stop ringing and void it and she moved my stuff over to the next register after she confirmed it was working there. There is a number you can call for catalina but I've never called it, do a search and you should find it. HTH.

I went this afternoon and was in mainly te same boat. I asked if the catalina machine was working, was told yes, and then it didn't print my catalina.

I went to CS, explained my issue and was told by not 1 but 2 managers, "What deal is this? There's a special where you get a catalina?"

Ummm... yeah. Really. Kmart managers that don't know they're own specials! One finally looked through the monthly flyer and saw the ad I was talking about and said, "Oh, THIS. Well. Did you buy anything from here?"

"Umm.. Yes. This. This. This.. etc," I told her.

She went, checked out the catalina, came back and told me she couldn't re-ring everything.. "Would a $14 GC be ok??"

Yes!! I was thrilled and it all worked out. Sometimes I think the managers forget that this is an actual promotion right now. I was glad to get out and a GC is even better than a catalina to me!

Catalina's number is (888) 322-3814. Another trick is that they can re-ring everything up, when all the correct products are scanned then the cashier hits total the OYNO will print up, then they just void the transaction to zero it out. The OYNO will print out regardless of coupons........and anyways even though most retail people don't understand it but a coupon is a form of payment (The doubling is a store discount and does not count towards tax as an FYI). I have gotten and rolled this promo over two dozen times and last round had to call for 4 different OYNO's as the best Kmart in my area ran out of the paper for the machine. I received my OYNO's several days later (wait a day before calling as they will not have the sale downloaded into thier system yet) and the OYNO's had the expiration dates extended on them!!! Go call them up if you ever have problems!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this a different rebate from the one that if you buy 2 different Scott products CATEGORIES, 3 different Scott products CATEGORIES, or 4 different Scott products CATEGORIES?

My store didn't have that item anyway, but please let me know if there is a different rebate than the one I elude to. Thanks!
