Kmart ~ Doubles: Status of double coupons at Kmart - share which stores are and are not participating in doubles ~ 2009

In Glen Burnie/Pasadena MD, K-Mart is not a store to shope in, very dirty, one of our K-Marts is shutting down, I heard they are going out of business, who knows????

Marine City MI is doubling 5 coupon's a day until Dec.19

this is my guess, and my guess only as to why it is only in one part of the country. remember how a lot of people were receiving responses to their emails about the next kmart double coupon events and a lot of the responses said something along the lines of them having to review their stance on double coupons and that this was the last one of 2009.


well a bunch of the stores just started doing this kching rewards card. before just recently only a few regions had this card.

maybe this area in michigan has a high percentage of coupon users and they wanted to do a study and see if doubling coupons with this card gets a good response. maybe they want to limit the amount of coupons per day in hopes that you will come in several more times a week instead of only a couple times. it makes sense in a business way because you are that much more likely to impulse shop and pick something up in the checkout lane while waiting in line. and there should also be less confusion on the cashiers part because they won't have as many coupons to deal with and people that aren't using coupons won't have to wait as long in line for someone in front of them who is using coupons. it is a win win situation for both the store and the customer. (don't get me wrong, the customer is the most important between the two because without the customer, obviously there is no store.)

they know people love the coupon events, but they also know some of the cashiers and customer service people find it to be a big hassel. plus i think i heard kmart loses money when they do it. so that is another reason for limiting the amount of coupons per day. they probably figure some people are going to come back every day to get their 5 coupons worth, and some people are going to say "heck with this."

anywho, they are probably just doing a study/experiment/test and if it gets a good response, then they will bring it to more stores in america. (probably after the 1st of the new year)

also, even when my store was participating in double coupon events, i never saw signs around the store saying that they were participating. i dunno if that is the norm for most kmart stores, but it sounds like everyone that has a store in michigan that is participating has had signs up all over the store advertising the card and the double coupons
