Try again with a different cashier.

I saved these for last because I knew that last time folks had trouble with "$/multiples" problems.

I pointed out that the coupon was for $1.00 off four cans, which I had purchased. The register prompted the cashier to enter the amount of the Q and so she manually entered $2.00 (that didn't double).

The next time I went in (I've stocked up on a ton of Friskies... happy kitties!) I told the cashier that the coupon probably wouldn't scan correctly and would hae to be adjusted manually. Four different cashiers and each one manually adjusted the Q to the correct price.

Ditto here. I had 4 of the $2/1 and had to go to C.S. to get my $16 back from them. C.S. insisted that the even though there was a picture of polish on the coupon, that it wasn't a cosmetic and that was why it kept beeping. Whatever. After an additional hour at C.S. I was wanting to kick myself for wasting so much of my own time, and was wishing that I had had the darn polishes voided out when the hassle first started. Very aggravating!

Had this happen at one store. The other store it worked fine.

I kept telling cs it's because of what that cashier pushed. They insisted it doesn't make a difference what they push. I didn't have my other crt to show them they will double up to product value - if the correct choice is made.
Cs couldn't believe I would tell them to take off air freshener for .45. I am not paying for air freshener when I can get it for free.

funny to me, after my coupons on cereal and air freshner my total was 67.xx. I asked what I bought for that. She found the first item she scanned was quantitied as 66... Then the 2nd time she scanned everything she was slapping the screen and didn't choose well.
LOL, I don't think so. Cs treated me like I did something wrong.
That store was too much trouble, then to get told .....we don't make anything double at cs.
I will make a trip the other way and will choose other stores next time.

Plus, my cashier didn't match anything up right, thus adding to the problem.

I had one $2/1 that showed the nail polish and one that did not. The 16 year old kid tried to tell me that it was because the picture didn't show nail polish -well what about the one that does then, neither would work. The c/s person ended up taking me over to C/S to try to get the coupons to work but she couldn't even do it, blamed the mfg. This was after about 10 minutes of her trying to convince me they had given me my coupon back when they hadn't. Very aggravating. She was nice but not very efficient.

I also had a $1/1 for Orajel (listed a bunch of things and then said or any Orajel product) and it would not work for the Toddler toothpaste, so we voided that.

Also the Carmex Lip Balm $1/2 would not scan never mind not double. She couldnt' figure out why, clearly I had bought the items. But she refused to put the coupon in manually. The cashier's explanation was it didn't scan cuz it was "squishy" meaning the bar code. She was like 15 what can you do. But the CS person you would have thought she could figure it out. I just had her void that too, i don't need the lip balm that bad and my sister was getting aggravated.

All of these the CS person said "it's the manufacturer not us". Pass the buck much?

    Everyone please note:
It is set up to give you a BOGO if the Q doubles for more than the item's amount....this is how they are preventing "overage". YMMV on getting the full price...so talk to your store mgr and ask if he will reimburse the difference....

A couple of Examples listed in this thread:

Tearpad-$1 off 2 Gold peak teas. Price was 1.59. Took off $1 and then $0.59, instead of another dollar. I purchased 8 bottles and it did this each time.

The $1/2 Easy Mac only doubled to the price on one item at $1.09 instead of $2.
Amy S ...sometimes I can spell funny. It has to do with my disability from my service in the US Marines...

There were problems with the Calgon and Healing Garden on any product...my store had a lot of the full size bottles of each on clearance and the coupon wouldn't scan...they manually put them in and doubled the coupons.

The $2/3 American Greetings Coupon says "Cannot be doubled" even though the code starts with a 5. The problems seem to be with coupons that are for more than one item - just avoid them I guess.
One cashier tried to refuse the $1.50/1 Pledge blinkies that state "NOT SUBJECT TO DOUBLING". I told her that if the register wouldn't scan it, then I wouldn't use it - they worked fine anyways.
