    QUESTION Kmart Price Markups?

I went in tonight to do the double deals and found many things to be way more expensive than other stores, I'm in Louisville, KY so I was wondering if it's just a regional thing.

The three things that stick out in my mind are Sunsilk Shampoo for $5.49, Huggies Wipes for $3.29 and Goodlife Recipe dog food for $4.99/$5.49. I've priced these at other stores and found better deals. :( I'm really bummed because I wanted to stock up on these items. I was so excited to score cheap wipes but that is so not worth it.

Anyone else dealing with this? Plus, nothing was stocked. It was 2 hours of finding nothing and then I spent an hour at the register arguing over Gerber coupons.

I wanted to try to score some deals but this is so stressful!

Kmart is more expensive than other stores. I noticed Super Kmart is more pricy than Target including food items. My Target has very reasonable prices for food products (at regular prices).

Once I was shocked to see the cheapest canola oil for more than $4 at Super Kmart (regular price) when I could buy it for less than $3 at other store. I don't shop at Kmart unless there is a good sale or CAT deal is going on.

I haven't gone for doubles yet but last time (a month ago or so), the shelf sticker for the Sunsilk was $3.79. I can't attest to the other items. I'm in an expensive area (central MD) so I doubt my price would be lower than yours.

yeah Kmart did increase prices since the very first doubles.. the energizer batteries 4 pack were 3.49.. but there is a $2 coupon out so they increased it to 4.19..

I just wish i was still in michigan cause of the scan law.. cause the items increased n price but the tags were not taking down.

I believe the first doubles run was to see what was out there and which items sold the fastest and the cheapest.. I expect kmart to keep raising prices little by little to find a median where we still buy them and they make more profit.

I just priced these the other day because we needed some batteries. The 4-pack of Energizer Cs were $6 (on sale I think). The Durracell 4-pks of Cs were $7.49, I think. I couldn't believe it! I only had $1 coupon for the Energizer...not a $2 coupon. I think those prices are really high for batteries!! I had bought some other batteries during the last double and they were $4.XX.

Yep, they just keep raising the prices and not restocking the products around here. Whiskas multipacks have gone up TWICE now since the first double promo. Yo Plus yogurt, activia yogurt, Lysol, jack links jerky, hershey candy bars, bleh. Others I can't think of atm I'm sure. I think the plan was to sucker people in, then raise the prices so most normal folks would still think they are getting a great deal. They aren't small increases, .50, .70, .79, 1.00, etc. I find it disappointing.

I found this to be true at my KMart in Olean, NY. Who in their right mind pays $8.xx for deodorant? I had Pert coupons, but everything was a couple dollars more than others posted. I guess I will stick to CVS deals.

I've noticed this too. Dove bodywash was $8 at my store, I noticed this during the first doubles promotion. I have decided that unless I can get something for free or less than .75 I will not be buying it at Kmart. I love CVS!

It's funny, the last time they were promoting doubles, I had a coupon for $1 off any dawn hand renewal, I found it a Kmart for $2.49, so I was able to get it for .49 after doubled Q. They have it advertised in this weeks add, $1 off any dawn hand renewal, so I was thinking about getting another one, I checked the price, and it is now $3.49, so they put it on "sale", but added $1 to their normal price. That is just wrong in my opinion.

If these doubles weren't around there is no way I would shop there, I have priced checked and their prices are the highest on everything we use. Not to mention the only 1 line open when checking out and the shelves a mess.
