Kmart takes sears gift cards!!

i went to Kmart tonight with a $5 off $20 toy coupon from the Hulk promotion and found out they also take sears gift cards. well i got 3 $5 off ones for signing up my email accounts with sears for sale updates and stuff a while back. so i scored a bunch of stuff tonight for my son and a card game for me for $1 out of pocket. the game even rung up at $4 instead of the 7.99 it was marked! i had to get another kite! LOL

If K-mart takes Sears gift cards, than that is something very new and I haven't heard anything about it. I work for Sears and know that you cannot interchange gift cards between the two stores.

They also take Sears Credit Cards. I believe they are owned by a mutual parent company. Last year, before school our Kmart had a huge clearence sale and while I was checking out with what I could "afford" the cashier noticed my Sears card amongst the others and said they took it. Shocked me but they took it and I got tons more for the boys!

Sure, I believe Sears bought Kmart out a couple of years ago.. or was it the other way around? :shrug7: Actually, I think it was Kmart that bought out Sears :hectic1:

Sears took over Kmart about 3.5 years ago. Some of the Kmarts out here were converted to Sears Essentials.

Sears and Kmart merged about 3 1/2 years ago. i am a manager within the company and went through all the new training. you can use sears gift and credit cards at kmart however you cant use kmart credit at sears at this time. Their is alot of great savings at both stores.

If you can use Sears gift cards at K-mart, then that is something new. You've been able to use Sears credit cards there for a while now.

Even though the two merged, K-mart really bought Sears and the company has gone downhill from there. K-mart has been mostly junk for awhile and Sears is becoming more and more junk too.

No Worries Sati769leigh! After reading the thread I checked with the front desk in MY town about using the Sears gift card and they informed me they do accept them and so I used mine yesterday NO Problem on the Purex laundry soap. So thank you very much for the info! Repped ya for the tip!

Sears, however, does not take K-mart gift cards. Thankfully.
