FREE Cell Phone at King Soopers + minutes!

King Soopers is now associated with a cell phone plan called iTalk (?)... they have their LG iTalk pre-pay phones advertised for $29.99, which includes, according to the ad, 20 free minutes.

Here's the deal:
Phone $29.99
Shortcuts loadable coupon: -$20.00
Found a green flyer at the service desk with a coupon in it for "friends and family" - $10.00

I called to activate it and the rep asked for my KS card number. Apparently whenever you spend $100 or more in groceries, you get 20 FREE MINUTES. You can purchase more minutes by going online or buying those little cards at the store (the basic plan - no monthly fee-- costs $0.20/minute. You can choose from other monthly plans that seem pretty cheap, no contracts.)

He also told me that I have $25 of minutes (125 minutes) already credited to my phone upon activation (not 20 as stated in the ad).

This is perfect for me. I only need a cell phone for emergencies since I'm a SAH/Homeschooling mom and never leave the house!

I wonder if this is something I could get and send to my mother?? She would be responsible for more minutes though...don't know how that would work with her being in FL and me in CO? Have to figure this out...

I was at the Westlake King Soopers in Greeley CO
