QUESTION No milk product coupons in Colorado?

I wrote a note to Daisy Sour Cream a few days ago saying I could not get the coupon to print and could they please send me some coupons. I got a call today and the lady I talked to said the it was illegal to send/publish milk product coupons(cheese, sour cream, egg nog etc.) to/in Colorado. I told her I have seen a ton of milk and milk product coupons and she wanted me to fax copies of those coupons to her so she could take them to the legal department. She really sounded like she new what she was talking about not regular customer service. She even read some of the "code" to me. I am not going to send any of the coupons I have but has anyone else heard of this?

I've never heard this before... In fact, I emailed Daisy (over six months ago now) and requested coupons since they never come in the Post or the Gazette and they sent me some. We get milk product coupons all the time here in Colorado. I know it's illegal in some states but I'm not sure it is here!

You know I think I have heard of that rule before.. not sure the exact rules, but I have heard of it.

I never see any milk coupons either. I see other dairy products, cheese and sour cream, etc.. but not just for milk. Maybe that is the rule.. just the milk??

http://www.milkpep.org/media/docs/promotions/DairyLaws. This link will give you the information on dairy laws. It looks as if they have to seek approval from the state and meet certain requirements in order to issue coupons in that state. Also it can't be a cents off coupon for a name brand. It's pretty detailed and, probably, a little confusing but I hope that answers your question.

ETA: Sorry, my link doesn't seem to work. It's a rather lengthy document or I would copy it here.

Does anyone understand what the purpose is for all this regulation on dairy promotions? Just curious.

The Dairy Promotion Law was enacted in May, 1984 to regulate and protect dairy farmers according to what I have read. It was to protect small dairy farmers from being put out of business by large corporations and milk importers from foreign countries. Coupons were not something that a local dairy could afford to participate in. A manufacturer may produce coupons that are non-specific for a milk product such as buy x get free milk with approval. Corporations that purchase from a cross section of U.S. dairys to produce by-products such as cheese, cottage cheese, etc. may submit for approval to produce coupons for their products as they are supporting the non-specific dairy industry. Again, this is my interpretation of what I have read thus far.

I have been told this before. They told me not even the 10% senior discount would apply.
