QUESTION Any other King Kullen shoppers out there?

I love that they double $1 coupons.... what have you been getting for free lately? It seems like every other week there's 1 item maybe.... better than nothing... but maybe I'm not reading the ad closely enough!

I have one near me but rarely shop there unless there is something I can get really cheap or free. You can get the Quakes Rice Cakes (small ones in the bag) for $2.19. Use the $1 Q from two weeks ago and they're .19. That's all I see right now. Pathmark has some really good deals right now so if you have one of those check that thread. Good Luck!

Even though they have double $1 off coupons, one sale item is not enough for me to stop in to shop. I think the last time I bought cheap stuff was when Chock-Full o nuts was on sale and I bought four or five cans for around $1 if I remember correctly.

Kens marinade was on sale that ended yesterday. That was a freebie.
Anyway, i am vary of posting any freebies.
    They definately eliminating them.
Every time an item rings free, the cashier is suppose to write an item value on coupon to alert those price thinkers that is is free, so no more after that. I learned to hate that store. They really do not like anyone to walk out with good deal.

If you have any of the 75c Viva coupons, the small roll is $1.59, final cost $.09; and those $1 Marcal will give you free 4 roll tp (small steps) - $1.49 so if there are any other deals, it makes it worth it - but remember, you are limited to 5 coupons per day.

Wow!! I've never seen that done - writing on coupons that give free items.
I do agree that free items are few and far between these days. I usually just go for loss leaders with doubled $1 coupons that make great deals I can't get elsewhere. Example a couple of weeks ago Tide was $5.99 and I had $1/1 - so $3.99 oop for my favorite brand as cheap as I can ever get it.
I also don't think it's just a matter of King Kullen - companies are putting out less $1/1 coupons on low cost items.
I have a pantry full of Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta from last year - loved that coupon!!!

5 coupons total - or 5 $1 coupons per day (that's our policy, with unlimited number of less than $1 coupons)? Also only 2 of the same coupon will double - the 3rd, etc. go through at face value if you choose to do so.

In my store I've never been held to the 2/day rule on any coupon. I've been known to go in during the morning and the evening when a coupon is close to expiring or there's a great sale - different cashiers usually and no one ever says anything. Hard rule to enforce unless they go to a loyalty card.

If you got the $1/1 insert from last weekend for Mystic frozen pizza - good deal this week. They are on sale for $3.33 - so $1.33 oop. I've never had these before - so I'll buy one and let the kids experiment before I decide if I want to use freezer space for these.

    That's 5 coupons total - and 2 identical

They are fanatically rigid - 2 like and 5 coupons period! Not just the dollar coupons or doubles. And the cashiers are super vigilant and will even alert the head cashier that they recognize you. Their hours are short and there aren't many cashiers per store. The best you can do here is to go from one store to another. It's really not worth it. It'd be great to be able to fly under their radar

Well, I never thought I'd say it - but I guess I'm highly grateful for my overpriced, nice, friendly King Kullen that I pass at least 4 times every day (between my house and the kid's schools). I never thought I'd refer to their coupon policy as generous!!!!

Very funny barbliny!! I am fortunate enough to have a Waldbaums, Stop & Shop, Pathmark and KK close enough that I can get to any of them atleast once a week if the special warrants it. KK & PM are a bit further though so that has to really be worth my while. KK does make it difficult with their policy but if I can manage (have the time and more q's) I will go out to the car and go back in, but never to the same register. I just wish there were more deals because their prices seem so out of line with the other stores in the area. I spend most of my $ in Waldys and PM. I also wish this forum was a little more active... but I haven't been posting lately either so I can't complain, since it is a group effort. Unfortunately, with the exception of PM, the other forums aren't so active either...

There is not much posting that goes on in the Waldbaums forum. Look in the Superfresh forum (A&P, Superfresh and Waldbaums are all part of the Waldbaums family) that is actually pretty active especially during good sales.

I also shop all of the stores you mentioned - all are within no more than a 5 minute drive for me (some with multiple stores within 10-15 minutes which works out great trying to find hard to track down items and collecting rainchecks - my favorite!!) Throw in Trader Joe's now and then - just went on a foray to Shoprite too - I think that will go in the rotation once a week now. They seem to have some pretty good sales.
