Thanks for the info - yes, you can freeze cream cheese - but I would not use it except in a cooked recipe. Freezing/defrosting changes the texture making it not very good for use as a spread. It has to do with the freezing water, then it separates somewhat from the cheese/milk and doesn't get reincorporated as it defrosts - unlike when you freeze/defrost milk/juice, you can simply shake it after defrosting to return it to normal.
