I was at Jewel today, getting the 4/$9 (limit 8) twelve packs of soda. I had my mom with me, and she was buying 8 as well. The cashier didn't see that the orders were divided, so she started off by saying, "Just so you know, there's a limit of 8 per person." We showed her the divider, laughed with her a little, and joked that we'd learned our limit lesson a long time ago.
Her next comment puzzled me, though. I don't remember it verbatim, but she basically said it was a new way of doing limits. She was talking to her bagger during the transaction, and I was thinking to myself, wonder what could be new about limits?
I asked her while I was swiping my card, and she said that limits are tied to your preferred card now, and they persist through the ad period. For example, I couldn't leave the Crystal Lake Jewel and run over to Algonquin to get 8 more packs of soda, because I'd reached my limit!
Anyone know anything about this?

That would be news to me. I recently bought over a certain limit when they had their sale on 24packs. and nothing was said to me.
