yes, I can. Its a cost of marketing. Supervalu owns Cub and Jewel. Last I heard, Cub still takes 6 mon exp. Supervalu owns Alberstons, Shaws and Jewel. Albertsons and Shaws have doubles- Jewel- not so much. Doms and other IL stores take expireds. What is so special about Jewel to make me shop there anymore?

I am also sad that they are no longer taking expired coupons. For the first time we went to Food 4 Less. We are now checking every stores sales. I know that they will lose my business unless they have a promotion that I can match with coupons.
Always looking for dogs and cats coupons. :thanks100:

I feel the same way. After May 1, I'll go to Jewel for their CAT deals (if I have coupons).

Otherwise, if I can get a product for the same price somewhere else and still use an expired coupon, then Jewel is not an option.

Just one and half years ago, I was one of those non-coupon using, those paying full price if I needed it, didn't compare prices type of shopper.

I feel that even though the economy is tanking and more people are using coupons, we are still a small bunch. Especially heavy duty coupon users like us. Especially where I live, where the ratio of non users to users is 80/20.

Expireds are like other people's doubling of coupons. We save more money because the expireds are of higher value.

For those of you who feel that stores shouldn't take expireds. Stores double coupons knowing they will lose money, but they want to increase business. Expireds do the same thing.

So is/did everyone call or email jewel to tell them how unhappy we are. I sure will!!

I will be making one last big purchase at Jewel Thursday AM with a whole stack of expireds. Then I probably wont be there so much, only with good catalina/coupon matchups.
