J.C. Penney gets rid of SALES

We haven't received any of the US mail coupons, probably since the New Year, and we were getting them all the time before. My parents were at JCP the other day and asked if they had any coupons out. (Our local store has always been good about having some extras on hand for people who might ask.) Well, the employee there said that JCP will no longer be offering the same type of high value coupons they have in the past, but rather, their prices are going to be reduced. They will still have the survey coupons (1 per month).

Anyone have any more info about this? I was waiting impatiently for a $10/$25 to do some kids clothes shopping...

I read online somewhere about JCP lowering their prices & not offering as many Qs. I don't know for sure, but I can say I haven't gotten ANY Qs this year, weird when I always get bombarded with Qs and flyers.
FYI-I went to JCP yest. to check out the clearance and that changed too. The old brightly colored %-off signs have been replaced with very plain white signs with "Clearance" on them or white signs with "Clearance, $10 and up", written in black. The lowest prices are no longer on pink stickers with the % off too. They are a dark blue/black sticker with the clearance price that covers the original price.

I was at JCP last week & spoke with an employee. I was told that JCP was having problems, they got a new CEO & that JCP was restructuring.

There will now be "Everyday Low Prices, No Sales, Clearance items when dropping from inventory, Survey Coupons Only". Small Red stickers are for the "Everyday Low Price" & small Navy Blue stickers are the "Clearance Price".

I will be able to post more after tommorrow but what is above is correct.

There will be no more coupons except for the surveys.
We repriced every item in the store to a new lower price that will allow for the company to be more competitive without the use of coupons.
The new CEO is from Target and Apple and has a plan in motion to make the company more affordable for the consumers and profitable to take us into another 100 years.

Im excited and scared all at the same time with the changes. The employees are supposed to find out the full vision tommorrow and then we will be able to discuss it outwardly. We were unable to do so previously.

So once I hear everything, I will make sure to let all of you fellow jcpenney shoppers know.

I was in JCP the other day and did not like the new layout/pricing at all. It used to be my #1 store for clothes etc but it is quickly fallling down my list.

Based on what I've seen so far, I think I will be disappointed in "the new structure". I used to LOVE JCP for great bargains on high quality clothes, shoes and home goods. I was thankful for the coupons because they made it affordable to shop there.

I think I will be also. I'm gonna wait & give them the benefit of the doubt & give them the opportunity to get everything into motion. However; so far I'm not liking the new change. But hey - ya never know it really might turn out to be a good one.

Bummer! Cause that was really the only reason we went into JCP probably most of the time.
