In our little town, "photographers" are a dime a dozen. Anyone who owns a camera in doing "photo shoots" and processing them with Picassa. Most of them give you a CD of the photos and also the copyright.

I wish there were more freelance photographers around here. I called the one- and only one- that I know of and their cheapest portrait package was $495. They don't sell individual sheets and they don't do digital copies. I asked please please please can I get a CD and they said yes for $25 per image. I was blown away by those prices! Geez!
I am always happy with Olan Mills :)
I had a similar bad experience with Wal Mart portrait studio: the photographer simply was bad working with kids. She couldn't get my child to pose, or even smile. The photographer also showed up 30 minutes late for my portrait appointment, claiming she had "car trouble". The pictures turned out awful.
i stopped using JCPenny's when we got a Picture Peoples. I have to say I will pay the price cause Picture People rocks. sorry to hear that you had all that trouble. I would also call the 800 number and let them know
