Yes, it does hurt your credit score! It raises your utilization percentage making it look like you are maxing out your card and can drop your score 20-35 points.

I wouldn't worry so much about how this affects your credit score...right now at least...because they're really messing with things and I have a gut feeling things aren't going to be looked at the same.

I just checked online with JC Penney nothing has happened to my account just yet but I'm going to keep watching it. I didn't have a payment due this month because I paid ahead last month. This worries me with my others though. I had no clue this was going on!:hectic1:

Just got a "reminder" of my next payment. We used to have it due the 6th, now it's the 30th. Since that's a Sunday, I have to pay it by the 28th, which means it messes up my November budget. UGH.

You can call and have them adjust your due date back.

Just an update. I did call to change it back and was refused. Ugh

I just paid my account off yesterday. I never carried a high balance and I did notice they changed my due date from the 17th to the 6th when I got my bill. I'm only going to keep the card to receive the coupons and such other than that I will not be using this card anymore.

Just an update. I did call to change it back and was refused. Ugh

Try again. I called for a customer today who had the same thing happen. For some reason they weren't able to switch her date back to the exact date it used to be due but got it switched to the day before that date.

I called for another customer today. The person on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about so they must be getting a lot of calls. Again they couldn't switch it to the previous date but the day before. She said you have to pay the current bill by the due date on that bill but next month's will be changed.
