RULES Please Do Not Post Any Coupons And /Or Links That Are In PDF, HTML, JPEG, JPG Or GIF Format

Dear Hot Coupon World members and guests,

One of HCW's goals is to help in the fight against fraudulent, fake, & unauthorized coupons from being posted on our site. In our efforts to help facilitate this endeavor, HCW has decided to no longer allow members to post any direct &/or unapproved links &/or printable coupons &/or those that are hosted in a PDF, HTML, JPEG, JPG or GIF format nor add them to the Coupon Data Base.

We are now requiring all members to 1st notify our staff via the "Coupon Review Forms" regarding all coupons &/or direct links you wish to share with the board ( including adding to the Coupon Data Base ). So, If you have found ( on the internet, etc. ) or received ( via email ) a coupon that does not have print limitation software ( such as bricks, coupons.com, smartsource, etc. ) then we are asking that you use the forms provided below to notify us of your finds. Please Note: Members are not allowed to post the direct link/s on the board nor add to the Coupon Data Base without approval 1st. Doing so is subject to the Warning / Infraction System.

Manufacturer's Coupons: Should you come across a manufacturer's coupon ( no matter the source of origin or format such as a PDF, HTML, JPEG, JPG or GIF ) or a link to a coupon that you wish to have reviewed &/or share with the board which includes adding to the Coupon Data Base we ask that you contact YouPdWhat our Moderator for the "It's Got To Be Real" form via this form

Store Specific Coupon ( Forum has an assigned Moderator ): Should you come across a store specific coupon ( no matter the source of origin or format such as a PDF, HTML, JPEG, JPG or GIF ) or a link to a store specific coupon that you wish to have reviewed or share with the board which includes adding to the Coupon Data Base we ask that you contact that particular store's forum Mod via this form.

Store Specific Coupons ( Forum has no assigned Moderator ): Should you come across a store specific coupon ( no matter the source of origin or format such as a PDF, HTML, JPEG, JPG or GIF ) or a link to a store specific coupon that you wish to have reviewed or share with the board which includes adding to the Coupon Data Base we ask that you contact a SuperMod ( YouPdWhat, nrpeace17, cheynesnana, meggers, bugface77or tacatcon ) via this form form.

Once you have contacted the appropriate Moderator with the printable coupon &/or link, the Moderator will check out the validity of the coupon or link & will notify you via private message or email whether the coupon or link is valid or not & if it is found to be valid they will they give you further instructions.

We realize that this system will not be without flaw but Hot Coupon World wishes to minimize the risk & liability should fraudulent coupons be posted on our website.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to our members, but we hope that our members understand the reasoning behind this action.

    Please Note:
    • Emailed coupons are intended for the recipient only unless there is a statement that the link may be shared with others. If that is the case then please follow the guidelines listed above.
    • Regarding PDF's, HTML'S JPEG's JPG & GIF's, MIR's, emailed coupons, etc.: HCW has a "No Asking & No Offering" posting policy regarding these items. Posting asking for or offering of these items is subject to the Warning / Infraction System.
    • Once a Manf. has withdrawn / ended / removed, etc. an offer be it a Coupon, MIR, etc. that was once posted on their website, etc. they obviously no longer wish for the public to have access to the item. HCW has a "No Asking & No Offering" posting policy regarding these items. Posting asking for or offering of these items in any form is subject to the Warning / Infraction System. NOTE: Even though the item may no longer be available to the public; If you printed it before it was removed & If it has not expired it is OK to use unless there has been an announcement made by the Manf. or HCW to the contrary.
    • Members are not allowed to post direct links on the board. Doing so is subject to the Warning / Infraction System.
    • Most links to coupons ( Manf. or Store Specific ) in Newspapers or Online Magazines are not allowed as they are being distributed in a manner not intended by the Manufacturer or Store. Exceptions to the rule would be if the link is powered by print limit software such as Bricks, Coupons.com etc

    RULES Coupons in jpg format

This should be obvious to all but, since it doesn't seem to be I will say it.

If an internet coupon is posted somewhere on the net (let's say a pbwiki site, for instance) in jpg format then it should not be used. This is not my opinion but, a fact. Most companies just don't send out jpg files like that. If you have to take a coupon and fool with it in order to post it then perhaps the company didn't mean for it to be posted.

Do not post a link to it here even if it's a link that is not clickable.

If you choose to use one of these coupons know that it has probably been altered in the course of manipulating it. The expiration date you see is most likely not the original epiration date especially if the coupon is good for 13 months. Don't be surprised if you get called out for trying it at the store.

There are legitimate coupons in PDF format, they just need to be checked out before being posted here.

We realize that there are indeed exceptions to the rule, and that there are instances where pdf's and jpeg's may be legit. If we can confirm it's original source then it's easier to make the call on whether it's a good coupon or not.

If it's on a 3rd party website then chances are it is not in the original format that it came in.

I was trying to be general but, I'll come out and say it. :smile1:

Any CVS coupons in jpg format on a 3rd party website with an expiration date that is 13 months past it's start date is almost surely a fake. It may have been real at some point but, the dates had to be messed with.
